Is Rafa honest? Last interview I saw him in he was talking as if Keane wasn't 24 hours away from rejoining spudz. He wasn't refusing to comment, every time I've seen him asked the question about Robbie he talks like Robbie was here for the long term.

Even if not stating something isn't be dishonest, isn't being honest about telling it how it is? Did Rafa do that or are we to believe he didn't know......................?!?!?

Was gonna say the same. The usual pre-transfer 'straight bat' i'd guess.

So excused lack of honesty, ends justifying means and all that. Didn't need a rocket scientist to work out Keane wasn't in Rafa's long term plans, would he admit it? Course not. Actions speak louder than words, words in football generally just heat the ceiling tiles

That's complete bollox, and if you can't spot the difference between flat out hurtful and deceitful lies like those that GG&H fed us to someone merely being diplomatic for professional reasons, well, I despair.

It is not "complete bollox", he wasn't honest about the situation, I couldn't care less whether a lie is little and white or dirty great, it's still a lie. I didn't compare his honesty levels with their's as you've drawn into, I merely question whether he's as saintly honest as you lot wish to believe.

Despair all you like, it simply makes Rafa look evasive when the truth was bl**dy obvious. He also now looks stupid, or if not now then may well end up doing so, for not signing a replacement.

"Despair" all you like, as if it's going to lose me any sleep.

Seriously, listen to what you're saying. Imagine if Rafa came straight out after a month after the signing of Keane of 20 million pounds and stating how he didn't want him in his long term plans. And how do you even know he didn't. It seems the situation was a lot more convoluted than half of the stupid speculation coming from the gobs of certain individuals on internet forums. Obviously the politics of any complicated situation prevents any employee of a major football club such as ours to openly speak their mind. More often than not that tends to result on expensive slaps on the wrist, and an embarrassing undermining of the position the person occupies.

I think you're all missing the point, you're trying to draw into comparitive honesty between Rafa and the 'evil yanks'. I merely pointed out ONE instance where Rafa hasn't been completely honest and I bet there are others, so portraying Rafa as honest is laughable. He is evasive in interviews, just because his "little white lies" are great for the club etc doesn't make them any less lies

Give it away already, I've explained that I was questioning whether Rafa is honest and couldn't care a feck whether he's more honest or less honest than ANYONE you care to name.

You're giving context, I never tried to. I cited one instance of not being honest and that is enough to show someone isn't always honest. Someone who tells a lie isn't necessarily a compulsive liar, but I didn't say Rafa was as bent as a five bob note. When it suits he isn't entirely honest, just because you want to compare him to the satanic twins that's your comparison and not where I was going with my point.

Carry on by yourself from hereon in, I'm fed up trying to explain something simple to someone simple (or coming across that way)

Who the f*ck knows. Perhaps he was told a deal could be possible and he was confident that Keane would be there. Benitez is not in charge of who stays and who goes in a cash strapped club run by two of the biggest money grabbing b@stards going. End of. If the Yanks wanted to sell to recoup money, then not Rafa nor anyone else could stop them. They own us, remember. That's the scary thing.

Some of the threads started on these boards are just plain stupid this one being a prime example.
Started by someone who less than a week ago wanted to hang, draw and quarter mr benitaz but now wants everyone to hush up criticising him because our american owners employ people to read the various LFC forums. If they do what a boring job they have reading 95% sh1t and 5% commen sense.
I have supported Liverpool Football Club all my life been a season ticket holder, stood on the kop at various times and said "This is the greatest day of my life" I have had with LFC enough "greatest days" to fill a year. But one thing always baffles me about our fans, they are the most fickle and its sad we always need someone to whine about Benitaz, Gerrard, The owners, Perry the list goes on and on I agree we cant love all the people all the time but there is no consistancy either love rafa or hate rafa or sit on the fence dont change you alliegence from day to day, hour to hour or even thread to thread.
Just stick to your convictions. Some people have, I have read said "Told you so" about Rafa not being the man to manage LFC then they get lambasted by others for having a different opinion. But these same people are shouting "Rafa Out".

I was showing someone these boards the other day a Liverpool Fan who lives in London has never been to Anfield but loves the club as much as I do. After spending 15 minutes looking at different threads they said "all you seem to do is argue and call each other names" when I looked at what he was reading one member was insulting another members mother what the hell has that go to do with Liverpool Football Club.
I don't post much on here for that reason people are to quick with an insult rather than accepting there are different views.
Stick to your convictions and I am sure what you say will be respected more.
