Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Hes gone now he has moved on and so should we.

I am sorry it didnt work out for him, but I was baffled when we bought him me and Leon said it was a bad move and it wouldnt work out.

I just didnt think it would be over within 5 months, apparently he wanted to go back, and it would make sense seen as he was still staying in a hotel and his wife stayed in London not an ideal situation for someone who wants to stay at a club long term.

The truth will come out one day but until then its time to forget about this sorry saga to bed.

Good luck Robbie.

First of all ..sorry because it has nothing to do with Robbie at all , just reading the BABEL part makes me wanna say something. I SEE HIM ( babel) AS DJIBRIL CISSE NUMBER 2. Thank You. ......by the way, that's not a compliment.

This outpouring of devastation and grief is pathetic! We bought a player and for one reason or another it never worked out.....He obviously was'nt gonna get a look in so its best that he's moved on!

Its all on Rafas head and he's big enough to take it.I just think that even if Rafa had his mind made up he still should have kept him till the end of the season maybe just incase, but obviously that was impossible. It seems Keane got frustrated and wanted out...Que the " Oh no he wanted to stay, hes a red"..Maybe but the reality is that no one knows exactly what went on behind closed doors.

Still though, good luck to Keane back at Spurs. Its over no need for the tears! :D

Why do we keep mentioning this 20 Million figure, there have been numerous articles posted saying we had only paid 9 Million of it, we sold him back for 12 Million so we made 3 Million. If thats true, apart from the fact we are a bit short up front now then thats a good piece of business ?

The only ones upset are the Anti-Raffinians and they are using whatever they can to get their cheap-shots in. Good luck to Robbie and time to move on.

This weekend I was thinking that we could do with Cisse, much maligned but didn't do much wrong. Not perfect, but scored a few key goals for us.

Djibril Cisse

2008/09 : 10 goals in 26 appearances (including FOUR winners)

LIVERPOOL

2004/05 : disappointing five goals, BUT spent November through to the middle of April out through injury

2005/06 : 19 goals in 53 appearances in arguably our best season overall (obviously not best trophy)

EUROPEAN SUPER CUP : comes on in the 79th minute,  equalises in the 82nd. Scores again in extra time and we win 3-1

FA CUP : scores in the 32nd minute to pull it back to 1-2, Gerrard then scores a first equaliser (2-2) and again a second (3-3) to take it to extra time.

2006/07 : loaned out to Marseille to be sold to Marseille

Given a chance I reckon we could have got a lot more than the transfer fee out of him. For an ordinary (mid table) side like Sunderland he's scoring nearly every other game, for a top of the table side Keane managed seven goals.

and spuds just wiped clean the outstanding 11 million did they? no matter what happened we still owed 11 million of the 20 million for keane, they paid us 12 million (up to now). we still owed 11 million so we are left with one million.

Robbie Keane told to return to Spurs or rot at Liverpool by Rafa Benitez

By John Cross 3/02/2009

Robbie Keane was last night forced out of Liverpool before completing an incredible return to Tottenham.

Keane, who only moved to Anfield for £20.3million in July, was determined to stay.

But boss Rafa Benitez bullied him into rejoining Spurs after warning he was prepared to let him rot in the reserves for the rest of the season. Republic of Ireland striker Keane, 28, even told Liverpool he only wanted to sign for Tottenham on loan until May.

But Benitez made it clear that the forward had no future on Merseyside while he was still manager.

The bitter breakdown left Keane with no choice and he returned to White Hart Lane for an initial £12m, rising to £15.5m.

Benitez is now set to sign a new four-year contract this week to stay at Anfield.

An absolute f@rking disgrace i tell ya! Poor man, very poor man management.

I dont think any player will ever want to come to LFC again while Rafa is in charge
