Keane = Kuyt

Both not good enough for a big club like Liverpool.

sitters were missed cause of a lack of confidence, as never got any continuity

... anyway... this exact argument happened 20 pages ago (with all sorts of stats)

agree that both are probably not good enough (although we'll never know for sure with keane -he never even had 2 90 minute games in a row)

im sick of our team being made to look a bunch of clowns by Parry and Rafa.

As an spanish proverb says: "Rectify is of wise people".

would have paid Tottenham the same money in the summer for Keane? No, they need him now desperately.

Would have improved and increased his value from January to June? No.

Now is the perfect moment to do this deal.

this is bullsh*t, Rafa harps on about the need for strength and depth in a squad, and now he honestly thinks Torres (who has been injured most of the season) can play every game from now until the end of the season?  f**k me, if the lad gets injured we'll be watching Kuyt and Ngog faff about up front.

im REALLY disapointed in this whole mess.

The contribution of keane up front was better than Kuyt´s???

No.

it was as a matter of fact.

majority of kuyts goals came from when he played on the right hand side.

kuyt played 3 games in a row upfront while torres was injured, 90 minutes in each game... and didnt score once.

What about the Wigan game in Anfield?

well done. one game.

one game where kuyt started upfront and scored.

so many more games when he started upfront and couldn't score.

keane had games at the start yes, but he was getting used to new systems, new teammates etc. kuyt wasnt

Weak memory. Remember the hundreds of sitters by Keane.

hang on, how can we flog Keane and label him as :censored: when we still have Babel on our books?!?

who is calling keane shi-te ?? look he is gone now - nothing we can do about it - move on and support the players that are still here and the club .

We dont need 2 Kuyts though for sure.

My quote from the first page back on 22nd October is the reason why ultimately he was sold.

KEANE S performances just weren't good enough, it can all be rafa s fault that he missed 3/4 one on one chances

oh sorry forgot his confidents must have been rafas fault after all, sorry but just don't buy into the lets blame it all on confidents get out, i was more glad than most when he signed but he didn't cut the mustard imo, if it had been a young lad everyone would have been saying he was sh!te, alot of factors have not helped keane but one on one with the keeper is down to him and only him, big fish little pond!!!!!!!!!!!!

if he tapped in a few of those open goals all of a sudden he has on ok goal ratio

quaresma to chelski is big news.. any idea why werent even in the picture given how badly we need a new right winger ?

and good for keane going back to spurs i guess... hope other players we try to sign don't take into consideration benitez's treatment of keane when deciding whether to join or not..

cause he is an overrated pile of shi te

better than the dirkhead we have down there now isnt he  :rasp

Typical of the breed of supporter my great club has attracted over the past few years.

We've fu...c...k...ed it. what is Rafa's planning for the rest of the season? The league, Champions League and FA Cup with just one striker who is trying to avoid his 4th hamstring injury of the season. All this when we are chasing a league title. Waiting in the wings we have Dirk Kuyt, the most maligned forward we have seen at the club in god knows how may years. We have David Ngog, who has so far looked young, frail and inexperienced or there's Ryan Babel, a self proclaimed striker whom Rafa has never had the faith to even play in his favoured position in any game of significance since he arrived at the club. And then we've got a couple of lads in the youth team who (despite a decent pre-season) have never got anywhere near the first team. I'm simply amazed that the manager has let his squad get into this predicament. We're relying on Torres staying fit for for the rest of the season and on Babel turning himself into a first class striker. Otherwise we are completely fu...c...k...ed. Anyone disagree?

I dont think keane was a great signing but as with Babel it was rafa that signed him.  Paid to much for Keane and to much for Babel.

but as soon as Keane did start scoring Rafa dropped him.

He´s got enough continuity the first 3 months.

I Know this sale is not popular, but is pragmatic, nobody in the future would have paid this amount of money for him.

The mistake was to buy him in the summer for 20 million.
