Alou diarra - Unbelievable....

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby JBG » Fri Aug 27, 2004 9:35 am

This may come as a surprise to you all (it certainly surprised me) but obscure Gerrard Houllier signing Alou Diarra, a Liverpool player who has never played for the club and who is currently on loan to Lens (who have an option to buy) has been called up into the French national squad for France's opening two World Cup qualifiers!

Thing is, the lad is an absolute gem. I have watched him play for Lens, and he, (hate to say it) is Viera like.

I hope that Rafa brings him back at some stage. Lens only have first option, not guaranteed.

Diarra is obviously doin' something right Leon as he has been called up for 2 WC qualifiers and not a mere friendly.

That is a prety big compliment for him as the French are not exactly short of quality midfielders,  maybe he does have something to offer us ???

Anyone know if we have the option to recall him? ???

Not seen Diarra myself, but if he's as good as you say, surely thats another nail in the Salif Diao coffin.

I would look good in the French League!!!  Lets face it a lot of GH's buys where good in the french league but the Premiership is a different kettle of fish....  faster, harder and probably more talent then anywhere else!  Thats why (virtually) all the French first 11 don't play in there own league
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

yeah it is a terrible league, monaco got to the european cup final and marseille knocked us out and got to the uefa cup final. After the top5 teams in the prem whos next birmingham, spurs, charlton, villa all very average teams to me yet we seem to think are leagues the best and toughest in the world...Also have u even seen the lad play....ok if youve seen him and hes ****** then fair do's but if you havent you should be givin the lad a chance after all hes on LFCs books and i doubt anyone of us have seen him play. Good luck to the lad and if he can get a game even better, instead of bein so negetive be positive about the lad cos we might just have are selfs a little gem in Diarra, you never know!
Chopper:Look, you're not still angry at me about the leg, are you?
Neville Bartos : Nah, forget about it.
Chopper : Because I don't know if you remember, Neville, but I had that bloody shotgun pointed at your head. I reconsidered and dropped it down to your kneecap. Remember?

Don't forget Cheyrou was called up not so long ago- but at the same time i'd like to think Benitez would get his colleagues to have a good look at him

Surely its simple, Diao is pants Diarra must be better bring him back and see if Rafa doesnt fancy him do a buy one get two free. Biscan and diao gotta go somehow. Lets have a whip round and buy out their contracts imagine what we could get them to do on our website. Pin the the electronic tail on the munster, its endless fun for all the family.
The man who came to merseyside from Newcastle, the man who says he's part of Liverpool as much as the Liver building. When he was needed Alan Kennedy was there. And with now just 8 minutes to go it could be that Alan Kennedy has made a little history.
