Reina - 6 - had little to do

Arbeloa - 6 - untroubled

Carragher - 6 - untroubled

Skrtel - 6 - untroubled, one of the players at fault for the goal

Dossenna - 7 - not bad, but again was untroubled most of the game, but did well going forward, putting in good crosses.

Kuyt - 3 - missed a sitter, didn't do anything to help out the attack, lost headers, misplaced passes, touch was awful, lost possession, typical dirky kuyt, not good enough.

Mascha - 6 - was ok, did some delightful interceptions, showed some good passing.

Alonso - 6 - like mascha, was ok, good passes, huffed and puffed.

Babel - 4 - I would have given him a 3, but he did a good move to set up Gerrard for a chance, but Howard saved.

Gerrard - 8 - our best player by far AGAIN! was everywhere, tackling, passing, setting up his teammates and scoring a goal, my MOTM

Torres - 6 - was ok, class backheel to set up gerrard for the goal, showed some nice touches, but still lacks sharpness, wasn't lucky with the service.

Subs:

Riera - 6 - Did more in 10 minutes to what Babel did in most of the match.

Agreed... with your points especially on kuyt..he was the worst player....but babel gets the stick.

Think Skertel should get a 5..... he was caught ball-watching again today.

Where the f@ck is agger ? I mean even we are gonna lose him to milan or something..we still have him for the rest of the season rite ? so lets play him.. Skertel and Carra don't compliment each other....But Agger and Carra do ...

Not a knock on skertel...given time...he would be an able deputy for carra.

most of it i agree with. but i think babel was worse than kuyt to be honest.
he had the ball so much but wasted it each time. i know their defenders closed in fast, but not once did i remember babel getting to the ball ahead of the everton defenders. either he pulled out or he just didn't react fast enough.
kuyt in the 2nd half, had a very good run, twist and turn. and did at least TRY.
babel just gave up too often for my liking.

Reina: 5
Arbeloa: 5
Carra: 5
Skrtel: 5
Dossena: 6

Kuyt: 4
Masch: 6
Xabi: 6
Babel: 4

Gerrard: 8
Torres: 6

They're all kinda low but no one did anything today aside from the ones above a 5.  Babel was worse than Kuyt imo.  Kuyt for all his failures as a footballer is at least smart and knows how to get into dangerous positions, Babel just fails at almost everything except being blessed with pace and a decent shot at times.

Reina- 5- Not needed as much as in the first fixture

Arbeloa- 5- Had an average game, makes a much better RB than anyone else on the team.
Skrtel- 4- Still not 100% match fit. Give him time, he'll be back
Carragher- 5- Had an average game too, much untroubled, made a cool skillful move in the first half which i certainly wasn't expecting :D
Dossena- 6- Looked much better than the last time I saw him, seems to have worked on his pace and his forward momentum more.

Babel- 3- Really couldn't produce anything all game, all his runs were stopped, a few of his passes fell short........poor, i was really hoping he would do well this match
Mascherano- 5- Saw him move up the feild a bit, make some passes, make some tackles, nothing special, just an average performance.
Gerrard- 7- MOTM without a doubt, when he had possesion, the tempo of the game lifted and we looked much better, when it was with anyone else we just looked ordinary.
Alonso- 5- Not up to scratch yet after his recent injury, couple of his passes were off, but he'll be back in flying colours.
Kuyt- 2- Honestly, no word in the english language can describe how poor he was today. Wayward crosses, wayward touches, wayward finished, truly poor. Offers nothing but a few tackles and lots of useless running to the team.

Torres- 5.5- Setup Gerrard with a skillful flick, had some more moments in the game, but looked much better in the previous derby, with another striker next to him (HINT HINT)

Sure, Keane had a dismal match last match, but i think it was ridiculous to see him dropped completely from the first team. Could've produced something as a sub.

Gerrard MOTM no question. Skrtel played well I thought, Torres still lacking sharpness, what an assist though, world class. May I stick my neck on the line an defend Babel though. HE ISNT A WINGER. HE DOSENT START MANY GAMES AT ALL. BENITEZ DOSENT SHOW AN OUNCE OF CONFIDENCE IN HIM. How can anyone seriously expect him to play well in the situation hes in? Be reasonable.

can you say the same for Keane, who was completely dropped from the first team?

Ive said similar about Keane in the past mate, hes in a similar situation. Yet he does play in the position he plays in when he plays, Babel dosent. And although he dosent play as many games as many would like, he plays a lot more than Babel.

Thingy, if that's the case, we shouldn't be giving babel games than, right? i mean, if he's low on confidence, and rafa seems to want to play him only on the wings, then we should just totally drop him from the team, since if the boss plays him there, he doesn't do :censored: all.
i mean, there is a difference being played out of position and just totally not playing. He looked like he had no idea where his team mates were. He looked like he couldn't cross (dossena was so much better). when he took on his man, he almost always lost out - i only remember one time when he did and got a ball in. And even then, that ball hardly went anywhere dangerous.
i thought babel was a good player last season, despite his obvious faults of not being able to control a ball well etc. but at least his shooting and running made up for it. now, his two assets are also gone.
i think if we can a decent offer for him, let's sell him and get a real winger then.
