Sabre wrote:On the question whether under more favourable signing conditions Rafa would be the proper man, the answer is, yes, obviously (obvious for me, that is).
With Torres the club beat a record in spending, meaning that previous to that signing Rafa wasn't having the spending power to bring a Torres or a Villa. Even when he had, he had to pick the unsafe (cheaper) option, as you can't forget that Torres has world class reputation after coming to liverpool, not before.
Having more spending power and less restraints would make his manager side of his job easier, he would make quicker deals, he wouldn't have to have signed patches like he used to in the first years, and he'd have to do less "gambles".
Yes, because when you sign a Robben or a Ronaldo that's not a gamble, they're well known. When you sign a player like Riera from a mid tim, you are gambling. Sometimes the gambles will go well, and sometimes not (ministry of sound players). The more money you have, the less gambles you'll make, the easier will be that part of your job.
So yes, in case the Kuwaities come, I still think Rafa would be the best option. I trust the man in the tactics part and as a coach, and having less restraints would only make his job easier.

Might have guessed you would be one of the idiots who support Lando!! I actually thought you were ok'ish but now![]()
Rafa can do no wrong in your eyes can he? It's never ever his fault, after all he 's spanish.
I'm actually all for sacking Rafa anyway at the end of the season, unless my some frigging miracle he manages to pull his finger out ofand actually start managing instead of bitching to the media every 5 minutes, but if we get a wad of cash then he is absolutely not the right manager, he can't man manage his current players how the hell would he cope with a squad of big egos, it would be a frigging disaster and in any case he'd probably still sign the wrong players or build up our squad to about 200 average players!

Stop backtrackingthat is not what you meant and you know it. I do take it you're English right, so your command of the language is up to scratch.
I had no idea that Inter were so cash rich, or Porto for that matter!
