Not really surprised by the result.  It shows me that many of our players are just too mentally weak for this club.  As soon as there is some instability in our boardroom, the team imediately looses form.  My guess is that we'll get back to winning ways when things calm down, but then it will be too late.

Thank you staff and boardroom for :censored: up another season.:(

Can't argue with the starting formation and up to a point, the subs. I think it did allow them to push on in the last 10 minutes but their threat was always going to be from set pieces. When he pulled the forwards off we just needed to make sure we didn't give away free kicks in dangerous areas and the tactics would most likely of worked. The subs didn't lose us the 3 points, the needless free kick and woeful defending did.

Not Rafa's fault in my opinion. Quite simply, too many of our players underperformed.

Thought defensively both Sami and Skrtle were suspect. Both looked nervy in possesion and weren't commanding in the air at all which is very unusual for Sami especially. In Midfield only Gerrard played well IMO. Kuyt did his usual (reasonable ball retention, hard work, no forward impact to speak of). Riera was disappointing for his standards and Alonso's game was nowhere near his recent superb performances. Up front, Torres looked sharp and offered a great threat but Keane looked lost. So basically by my estimation about half our players were off the pace.

It's as simple as that IMO and has been our problem in all of these recent poor performances. Man for man we're just not playing well enough. That team, with everyone playing at or near their potential, was more than good enough to roll Everton over quite easily but we just had too many underperformers.

We're not out of the title race by any means but we need everyone playing to their potential and a bit of luck maybe. We can do it, but I just think the pressure and expectation is weighing too heavily on some players shoulders and that anxiety is taking away our edge. The reason we always seemed to finish strongly in the league in recent years is probably because we've been out of it. Now we're not out of it, I think unfortunately we'll continue to stutter to the finish. I just hope we learn from it and give a better account of ourselves next year.

Not writing us off but realistically I think we've missed our chance now. I think to get us over the line we needed a good cushion and that has well and truly gone.

It'll still be the best run-in in years so now i'm just going to sit back and try to enjoy it.

LOL The amount of posters in this forum. 70+ LOL

I bet you have all come to give your 20 pence worth of pent up frustration. Manager out, owners out, Parry out etc. Maybe you should all have a fun time with your missus before posting and maybe then you will mellow out a bit before posting!

Basically I see it like this....League title....FORGET IT!

We will not win the league playing like that, and scraping results like this all season long. we have no cutting edge and are a "one trick pony". You cannot draw your way to the title full stop. Rafa's outburst at fergie, I think was uncalled for and, has made us all look like fools. just adds the pressure. The mancs are laughing at us. Do we have no PRIDE!!?

We don't look like scoring many or cutting teams to shreds, in any match. you cant win the league like that. Absolutely no chance. our play is one dimensional and cr*p.

When lucas came on I said to my mate in the pub.."that is the kiss of death by Rafa, watch Everton score" and look what happened. I wanted babel to get a good run out.Babel should have been given 30 mins at least. bringing him on on 88 mins? Rafa WHY? ???

I'll bet any of you £50 quid we dont win the league, not cause I am not a supporter, but because you cannot win the league playing like that. we will not draw our way to the title, full stop. Fact. I think we will finish 3rd, then Benitez will walk.

Bluenoses to their credit, looked quite resillient and showed why they have had good recent results. buts thats no excuse.

£50 bet anyone?
