The head above the parapet thread - Is it ok to talk about football again?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I don't argue that Chelsea is not the Chelsea of two years ago and probably, Manchester isn't as strong. But the league are 20 teams, and I'm not sure it's any weaker.

Parallel to this, we have the Spanish example. Barcelona is stronger than ever and I think they could put with no problems a 3-0 at home to Manchester United at the moment, they'd be insultingly superior as we speak. However, the Atleticos, the Deportivos, are a tad weaker, while the Aston Villas are stronger.

So when it comes to Liverpool, their direct rivals are not stronger, especially Chelsea. But the rest of the league being weaker? I don't think so. Well, I'm not sure, to be more precise.

one interesting fact is that we have the same points this season than we had at this stage last season, so we didn't really improve did we, we just stayed the same while Chelsea and manure slipped up.

Right I will log out again now :)

Points may seem the same but the dimension is slighty different i guess with wins and losses. But your right we are in this position because of mannures and chelsea stutter in points.

Perhaps other teams don't just lie down anymore, they actually put up a fight.

Both approaches may have part of the truth, it may be both that the other teams are tougher and the top teams are weaker.

But the fact is that we demanded a title challenge, and we're in a title challenge.
