Figo is not a worthwhile investment - fee plus wages . Was a great player but no longer value for money.

I think Rafa would not sign Figo. Rafa knows almost every player in Li Liga and Figo is on the down side. It only make sense to buy a quality CB.

well.. if Figo is avaiable for cheap... get him.. a class performer.. although age is not on his side... he got mountains of experience... a winning mentality that all our players dun have... and pure skill.... surely will boost our right flank by billions of times...

Of coz i would hope a class CB comes in... we really need someone good to partner Hyypia... i am stil not sure abt Carra and Hyypia partnership... Carra is stil not a exp CB...

He may be 30 but he still has enough pace to terrorise the English and Dutch defences, he has more talent and skill than many other players who have been mentioned on these boards as possible signings.  He is one of the finest players of the last 50 years and would be more than welcomed by me.

I'm a bit confused, we are running away with ourselves here.

Valencia owe Benitez personally 2 million, so Benitez is personally going to put his 2 million Valencia owe him into financing a deal for Mista, therefore reducing the deal from 5 million to 3 million

I dont want Figo here we have ample enugh class players for the Midfield now
I really want to see a good Centre Half brought in, ok its not as glamourous but we need a world class player there with pace and distribution skills!
Coloccini may still be on the cards as he will not cost loads and Beni has emphasized on many occassion he willl not pay over the top for any player!

Figo's a class player but he's not what we need right now and with Nunez and Garcia already signed don't need another player of that type plus he'd want serious wages.
Definately take Mista if he was available, he's quality, will score goals, has good touch and contol and can hold the ball up, which Cisse and Baros have been poor at so far.

Shovanistic again? Me? I find that very offensive, that you would even suggest such a thing.

Much as I agree that he is a great player, I think he is past it now if he wants to switch the Premiership as he has lost a bit of his pace and would be in for a rough treatment from the opposing defenders, more so than in Spain. His best bet is to go to a slower place like France or even back to Portugal.

As for Liverpool, we would be spending too much money on transfer and wages for a player, while still good, is past his prime. Better find an experienced and quick central defender.

Im sure all this talk would be sweet music to Nunez's ears. Finally he gets away from a side where the likes of Figo was keeping him out then he follows him to Anfield. :D

Figo will be a free agent from next June onwards. Why not waib to get him on a free instead as surely he will not be a long term choice.
