Exactly Bob - it'll all be how Rafa has lost it.

Nonsense mate.He was calm,not ranting.
He never said anything that was not true..the only ones who will say he's lost it are UTD fans cause everyone else knows its all true!
About time it was said as well!! :nod

All the neutrals on Talksport are saying Rafa's lost it.

Knew this would happen - all the papers tomorrow will be saying the same.

Does this put more pressure on the players to win tomorrow?

FSC just showed it here.  Freakin awesome.  I loved how deadpanned he was regarding the zonal marking.  The sky reporters read some emails, all but Mancs thought it was great.  Of course they don't want someone taking swipes at St. Fergie though.  :censored: them and their whiskey nosed :censored: manager.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

So far UTD have refused to comment according to SSN!!I wonder how long it will take!

:D

Just re watched Rafa a few times and he's been very smart,he's got his point across but has not been unreasonable or embellished anything really.
The FA cant charge him for stating facts...although its very obviously a big criticism of refs and Fergie it was all true,so theres feck all they can do!

Well in Rafa lad!!
I can't wait to see what the rest of the season holds now,Rafas ready for a fight!! :buttrock

The thing is rafa has set the agenda this weekend for the sky pundits . THe fa ,pundits ,press and every other fecker will be all over the chelsea ,man u game . They will not let the ref get away with frig all . As long as we win tomorrow ,this has been a masterstroke by rafa , all the attention will be on the mancs and chelsea.

Go 'ead Rafa lad.

Rafa has shown today that he's got bigger rocks than any other manager or the fat wt@ts at the FA.
Whisky nose was right out of order over the fixture conspiracy the other day and it amounted to alleging that the league was being fixed. Surely anyone else would've been fined or banned for such comments but not that old f@rt.

Rafa losing ?? Nah, he just sticking it up the stupid jock TWAT!!!!

Exactly mate, it's a very well timed (Mourinho style) rant, and make no mistake, it's a rant! The players will love him for it, you just know Carra and (especially) Gerrard will be chuckling all evening at this. It's so rare that Rafa gets involved in the typical mind games B.S but when he does say his piece (as he has before champ league games against Mourinho) he certainly comes out fighting. I don't usually pay too much attention to this sort of stuff coz the press feast on it while it has little bearing on the players but this has certainly hotted things up and it's great that it involves our manager and our club for once.

Taken from Fanzone in the The Times - Quality this....

Arise Sir Rafael Benitez

Was that the funniest press conference you're ever likely to see?

To all those media hacks trying to compare it with Keegan's rant at Ferguson and accusing Rafa of taking the bait; step back and think about it for a change. It is nothing like the rant of a broken man like Keegan, who had seen his side squander a healthy lead at the top of the table, reacting to the provocation and mind games from the purple nosed one. It is not taking any bait from Ferguson and signs of losing the plot, as Ferguson hasn't said anything for Rafa to react to. How can he take the bait if there isn't any there? He knew exactly what he was saying. A man losing the plot and reacting does not have a sheet full of notes to hand! He's casting the bait for Mr.Ferguson to bite on.

Rafael Benitez has spoken out this afternoon and said the things that everyone else has been too scared to say before. Everyone thinks it, but nobody has the balls to stand up and say it; until now. Well done Rafael Benitez. Alex Ferguson has been intimidating referees and the authorities for too long with nobody daring to stand up to him, and we now have a manager prepared to do just that. We've waited long enough!

It does hurt and scare them down the east lancs that we sit top of the table, and could be 10 points clear of them by Saturday night. It scares them to see a Liverpool side that sit clear at the top and can only become stronger with the return of Fernando Torres. It scares them that come May we could be sat back on the perch Ferguson always wanted to knock us off. They're scared, make no mistake about it.

And on that note, it's about time we stopped worrying about the fall from grace and being overtaken at the top. What about belief and desire, something Benitez has shown in abundance this afternoon. He's been very, very clever with his words today, putting pressure on the referee before the game with Chelsea on Sunday in a very astute manner. Something Ferguson and Mourinho have been masters at for the past few years. It's refreshing to see our manager ruffling a few feathers. The season starts here.

We're in there fighting and that press conference this afternoon is the music to my ears as we enter the ring. This is where it all begins.

He's timed it to perfect. A calculated swipe on the eve of what could be the defining weekend of the season. We've just got to go out an beat Stoke now to see whether today's press conference has any affect on the Sunday.

And the greatest thing about the interview? The simple slip of the tongue that highlights the humour and mindset of Rafael Benitez? Referring to him and Mr.Ferguson instead of Sir. The work of a genius. Simple yet blunt. Dismissing the stature of the man with the exchange of one word. Brilliant.

Our manager has started playing games this afternoon that may or may not have an affect on games, and ultimately the destination of the league title, but he's brought a smile to my face anway. Thank you Rafa.

Take the pressure off Gerrard. Take the pressure off Keane. Take the pressure off the side and putting it all upon himself and the referee before Sunday.

I doff my cap sir.

The thing that worries me is that the majority of the press is all saying Rafa has lost it, this may just nullify the intended effect.  I think it all comes down to the results this weekend if we win and Man U loses or draws it is genius.  If we draw or lose and Man U win then it will backfire.  Man we better win tomorrow!!

Good piece that Scott  :nod

Ive just been talking to my mate in Spain about it an they said he done something similar before when he was at Valencia to Real Madrid

If the players dont step up to that war cry an thats what it was, they should be buzzin like we are after that interview if that was Mourinio he would of been applauded as a genius for taking the pressure off the players for that, THAT IS A FACT :nod

I thought Rafa's Comments were quite well thought out.  Every time a big game come up Fergie puts pressure on the officials by dropping all sorts of sly digs in pre-match press conferences.  Very difficult for him to do so now.  Brilliant, work RB.

If the champions league never cemented Rafa's place in Anfield folklore this rant clearly has.

In Rafa we Trust

A world class manager who will make sure Ferguson doesn't retire with more league titles than the mighty reds!!!
