Or whinging there helps take a load off. When Liverpool lose it always helps to take it out on someone else. The people you would like to punch thread helps take off that pressure. And if Davina McCall appears one more time to promote her mediocre excercise dvds I swear I will hunt her down !

So you see it helps, it starts off with poor performances from players, lets say Lucas (for the sake of picking a player) then after a match rather than get angry at the player, before typing just think....Lucas was poor, Lucas was poor, Lucas was terrible, worst than terrible.....WTF? Whats she doing on another bloody advert ARRGGGH NOT BIG BROTHER AGAIN !

Then speak about punching her. Of course you lot should channel your hate towards someone who you would like to punch but if Davina happens to be the one then great !

I officially now need help... :upside:

Duly corrected.

Good to see the point of the thread missed or ignored by some on here, the usual suspects taking it as just another thread in which to argue.

When arguments descend below football and into a character assassination, people just identifying what they think are people's bad traits, or just hurling insults and abuse then I think mods should hand out 1-3 match bans (or days since we don't play matches)

I'm gobsmacked that some people on here have just a handful of cards, one I could point at but am pretty much by means of quotation is long overdue a rest from this forum. The message of the thread should not really have resulted in seven pages

great idea mate, so why has abuse etc been alowed to go on day in day out for so long on here without posters being banned etc.

i can think of alot of posts recently by people who get personal with insults, who are probably total wimpy w@nkers in the flesh, but feel fecking hard behind a keyboard! you know whay i'm saying
otherwise you wouldn't of started the topic. as much as i think the mods do a resonably good job,i think that explanations as to why certain posters get banned & others don't get's people's backs up
& that's why discussions go totally off track & turn into a personal slanging match cause they know they will get away with it.

please answer me this question why was peewee banned?

i would like to know, or am i not alowed to know.
i used to enjoy reading posts on this forum & joining in discussions etc, but for a while now it just winds me up having to read comments from people who from what they say have never been to a game or no nothing about our history yet throw personal insults to try & justify their actions, in their totall lack of knowledge, or you have the posters who think they know everything about the club, wont listen to other people's opinions & again just dish out personal insults cause they think they are right & will get away with dishing out vile comments.

discuss football on this forum, without personal abuse etc is as rare as rocking horse sh1t, i'd love to have a fantastic debate/discussion about our beloved club with one & all but know it will never happen,as long as people are allowed to get away with certain behaviours.

ps i still prefered it when the ball was brown & had stitching in it!! the ball is to lightweight now.

Hi Red,

I appreciate and share your concerns, mate.  There is far too much abuse peppering the footy chat around here and has been a problem for as long as I can remember (although there's been a sharp upturn of late).  It irritates me as well and I know many of the other mods are frustrated with it too.  As Saint's correctly pointed out, however, we've had trouble completely cracking down on it because it leads to accusations that we're on a power trip and get off on over-modding this place, choking off all passionate debate in the process.  Indeed, when we do try and stamp some of the flame wars out, we're told that such and such valued and long-standing member has left because we've taken all the fun out of the forum and so on and so on.  So, human nature being what it is, we ease up and the abuse steadily creeps back in.  It's the circle of life Newkit style and if there's an easy solution to this problem, I would love to hear it.

BTW, Barry's right: Peewee has not been banned but seems to be on self-imposed exile.

thanks for the feedback bob, i understand that somtimes you must be in a no win situation, people on this forum need to take more accountability for their own actions. that in the ideal world would make your [mods] life alot easier, & possibly make disscusions more enjoyable & informative. i love to read/ join in with disscusions about our history it also gives those who may not know etc the chance to appriciate the knowledge passed on by other members on here, as their are people on here who are very knowledgable & give great info etc which is a joy to read.

however when someone who may think they know it all & doesn't appriciate or acknowledge any others imput it very quickly ruins a perfectly good topic, i for one then loose interest don't bother replying because i know it will just turn into a slanging match, insult exchanges, imature remarks, etc etc & i then really get hacked off, because i & i'm sure other members think 'whats the point' & log off as a result instead of makeing the topics a laugh, interesting & informative.

i would like to think that the forum members new year resolution would be - make topics enjoyable to join in with, & enjoy the fact we are top of the league!! playing some great football, but most of all -THINK BEFORE YOU POST,PLEASE.

ps HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ONE & ALL, DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY!

Perfectly reasonable request there by Redhayesy. I'd endorse the sentiment as well - the standard has dropped considerably over the last year.

yeah i agree with him too but to make it a resolution is abit overboard? its not as if your life revolves around newkit.

that does not mean i disagree with the gist of his post.

ok i got it after reading it a few more times  :D
but how much can be done? someone like Petar already had 5 accounts and kept coming back. theres only so much the mods can do. and this is the internet not your pub across the street. here you only get your pride smashed. there, you get you face smashed.

That if you're banned, I won't ask for amnesties. :D

The point is simple. Of course Newkit is only a forum and not the center of our lifes. But we come here to enjoy Liverpool and discuss football, so one goal of this place should be to keep the footie talk up, and in a civilised way. And if some posters do not allow that, if they're temporarily banned, no one should talk about "dictators" nor this only being a internet site.

You see, when the mods stop doing their own policy because we have a parallel modding that tells them what to do, then other people, who are not part of that constant parallel modding but are users as you and me complain about the lack of moderation. So I hope that when the mods actually moderate, we respect their decissions.

Now yes? Or do you want I make a picture.

1) its everybody's responsibility to keep the footie talk up and being the internet anyone can gain access to this site like the past few days we have been seeing loads of ****.

2) when the mods moderate, they should moderate fairly.

3) if you wanna make a picture go ahead. actually....ask Bav, he has some nice artwork in the gen chat section.

But won't you agree that "fairly" isn't the same thing for me, you, Lando, or Mick?

We all have an opinion. I don't agree all mod's decissions, but I think it's a tough job, so the least I can do is to respect their decissions.

a mods decisions can be respected if the posts he/she makes a at any sense credible and respectful in the first place. i have seen mods post stuff that if done by any other poster, would have gotten banned or a card. the mods do have my respect but when they bait other members with less authority or abuse members then they lose it.

so if the mods harp so much on better behaviour and so on... lead by example. i agree there has been many spats these few weeks and i think the mods have been quick to ban or get  rid of posts with unsightly remarks and comments or links as we have just seen moments earlier.
