There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Well it should all be sorted fairly sharpish. Most of these late license gaffs have got CCTV so there shouldn't be too much argument one way or another. FWIW (which I acknowledge is absolutely feck all) I just can't see Gerrard getting stuck into the other bloke and giving him a hammering. He's simply not sort of lad. I'd be more worried if he's been on his own and the fella had gone for him, one on one he'd do some damage. But in a group, against one bloke it takes a certain type of person to really give another human being a good hiding. Gerrards simply not got it in him IMHO, and it's entirely to his credit that that's the impression he gives off.

Its going to magistates.

It will be a slap on the wrist, some compo, and a hefty fine(fine based on wages   )

Main concern is the F.A - bringing the game into disrepute. :(

You don't know what people are like when completely bladdered though, I can be a nutter when I've had a few too many, otherwise Im really mellow

Not saying I'd beat someone senseless like haha, but maybe Gerrard would

I wonder if Rafa will take any stance on this in terms of disiplinary? I know Rafa liked to be professional about everything but could he even afford ot risk dropping him for a game? Hopefully he will still play on the weekend.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

Going by Radio 5 live and Sky News, it was all on CCTV.

That is not good news for him,as he has been charged there must be film of him doing the act to be charged for it.

he was charged under S20 so yes it could be upto 5 years, but it will not, more like a 1year, as it is him he will ger something like 800 hours cleaning the streets. or 5 weeks inside and then doing talks in schools and doing Anger managment courses (hoe they send him to me).

I can't see him getting more than a fine for this. What's likely to be more damaging is the media frenzy that's going to ensue. We've seen the effect that off-field matters have had on Stevie's state of mind and performances in the past. The mancs must be loving this. :(

i said UP TO 5 yr

ABH can result in a five year sentence or 7 years if racially motivated, however 6 months is more likely

check the web, you can find that info anywhere

Surely he wont get time for this, throw a couple of punches these days and you end up  locked up, unbelieveable  lol

Hopefully just a fine, hope it doesn't affect his form though

Daily Mail

IMPORTANT BIT

Gerrard asked for a particular tune but was told that it was not club policy to play requests. At that point the footballer allegedly pushed past Mr McGee, catching him with an elbow.

A police source said: 'Mr McGee retaliated and swore at Gerrard, which was when Gerrard's mates turned violent and assaulted him.'

Friends of the England star insisted he had been reacting to provocation and had thrown no punches himself. Mr McGee was taken to hospital where he received four stitches to his forehead and treatment on a cut nose, swollen eye and a dislodged tooth.

Are you lot all being serious here?

5 weeks inside for section 20?  FFS

Section 20's are dished out loads up here and about 99.9% of them end up with a fine and a slap on the wrist ,
