Where we ever in the running or was it just rumour control - Could never see newcastle really selling him - they will offer him a better contract and he can be the man there - his loyalties are to himself only .

on top of that the fans would have to forgive Owen for being a bit of a baby over the last few years.

At the moment Kinnear reckons he won't sell because Owen can score 10-20 goals a season. Even though he might lose him for nothing and 10-20 goals a season translated to half a season is 10 goals and while £3m isn't a lot for 10 goals, he would still have Viduka and Martins.

Tempt him with a £5m bid, start bidding now so Owen has something other than just his contract offer to consider and maybe he'll be considering a contract offer from Liverpool in January - either to join then or in the summer. His goals might keep Newcastle well away from the drop, but can he be happy playing at a club with that kind of outlook and seeing his England career disappear? (partly down to Cappello's naivety, even Owen on the bench is a worthy risk)
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

LEE: IT'S BUSINESS AS USUAL

Paul Hassall 16 December 2008

Sammy Lee insists it will be business as usual at Melwood as Liverpool continue their preparations for Sunday’s clash at Arsenal without the recovering Rafael Benitez.
The Reds boss underwent minor surgery to remove kidney stones yesterday, with assistant manager Lee happy to man the ship until the Spaniard is fit enough to return.

"First and foremost, everyone is hoping that the boss recovers quickly because Rafa's health and wellbeing is the most important thing," said Lee.

"He is a massive presence at the club, so we all want to see him back here as soon as he is well enough.

"But in the meantime it's business as usual for us because the players return to training today after a couple of days off and we already have some things planned for them."

Liverpool face a tough test of their title credentials this weekend when they travel to the Emirates to face Arsenal.

The sudden loss of their manager through illness could well hinder a side's preparations, but Lee insists this is not the case for Rafa's Reds as plans for the showdown with Arsene Wenger's men had already been put in place.

"We have already planned what we are going to do so we will just be sticking to that," said Lee.

"Everyone knows exactly what we will be doing and the important thing is that we all muck in together and keep things running as normal while we're without the boss.

"It will be all hands to the pump but one of the good things about this club is the way everyone pulls together when needs be.

"The main man may not be here, but we have to keep things going so he can just pick up from where he left off when he comes back.

"But we are all wishing the boss a speedy recovery and hopefully he will be back to his best as soon as possible."

Wonder if Rafa will be at the Emirates on Sunday ???
