A 4m profit on a player who we are yet to pay for would be great IMO.

why u think they offoring that cos he is a good player no way hang on i say he will only get better.

I agree, he's a good player but the problem is where to play him? I think 15m in this market is a lot of money. While in summer it might not have been worth it these days I think we could find a top class player like Arshavin.

Up front sell keane back to spurs for 15 mila nd put it down to a error of judgement.

Use that 15 to buy another player.

I'd love to sell Keane back to spudz for £15m, but I don't think he's worth that even if he weren't in poor form. I reckon he is worth maybe £12m, certainly to spudz for whom he was a good player. I think Inter paid £12m (?) for him as his previous record fee.

We could persist with him and hope he comes good, he would lose value rapidly and we could be flogging a dead horse. I'd certainly consider any bid of £10m+, but you do have to wonder if Rafa is thinking of selling him then how much chance will he be given in the next three weeks or so? (to come good) Maybe Rafa thinks the more he plays the less we'll get!

what do you guys think of this; obviously he wants to play more but could he really see Rafa loaning him out and leaving us short on the wings?

Personally i think he's too lazy to play on the wing so should be in a strikers role- but unfortunately (and without enough game time in that role) i don't think he'd do any better than our current players. Would it be worth Rafa playing him as a striker in reserve games for a few weeks and see how he does?

REDS `REJECT BABEL LOAN REQUEST

Ryan Babel's agent claims the Liverpool winger has failed in a bid to engineer a loan move back to Ajax.

Babel moved from the Amsterdammers to Liverpool in July 2007 but has been unable to hold down a regular starting place at Anfield.

He has made 17 appearances in all competitions this season but the majority of those have come off the bench.

According to his agent Winnie Haatrecht, the 21-year-old would relish a temporary return to Holland in January but Liverpool dismissed the possibility out of hand.

"Ryan finds that he sits on the bench too much at Liverpool, he wants to play more and asked me to see if Ajax were interested in a temporary return," Haatrecht told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.

"After we got an enthusiastic reaction from Ajax, we asked Liverpool for their co-operation but the club don't want to see him go.

"Rafael Benitez finds Ryan too important. Hopefully we will see that in more playing time.

"Let's be clear: Ryan feels great at Liverpool, but for him to develop further he needs to get playing time."

I've heard the opposite  ie that the loan move will go ahead in January (Talksport).

He is at the moment more of an impact player, but given time and more play time he could be one of our best players.  He needs to get better which his first touch off the ball (as does Kuyt0

I like him and he is one of those type of players who will create chances or score with a moment of class  our team is full of grafters and not enough pure skill.

I know our grafters are doin a good job, but its nice to see a momment of magic aswell now and again, without Torres or Gerrard we dont have any. Team of Kuyts.

If Eggnog came on for me Id be feckin p!ssed off anall.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Benitez is making very big mistake with this lad! How can not you see signs of world class player in Babel. He was fukcin boss in Marseille,he score dgoal against mancs,he beat arsenal in CL by himself, scored that fantastic goal against CFC,some fukcin boss movements and goals. You can not criticize lad because he is our top3 players everytime when he is on the pitch! Just like JP. And Rafa constantly plays him out of position. Why,because of his stupid notebooks,so forwards must be headless chicken like Kuyt and Keane. Those two were actually good strikers before they made a mistake and moved to Liverpool. Keane spends 70 minutes running, running, making pressure, but goals? Anywhere else,Keane and Kuyt would score 20 goals per season. Rafa wants to make Ryan babel another his headless chicken. I can`t stop laughing at Rafa`s decisions...

To see what exactly? I think worst 3 players everytime is more believeable than top 3. One goal all season, mostly comes off the bench and doesn't do a lot. I think 3 could well be the number of good (part) games he's had

this is absolutely disgraceful IMO... this guy moans and moans... and instead of focussing on getting into the first team, he engineers a loan move to Ajax! And this is when your team (yes the team who's paying you wages) are leading the league and would require everyone to stick together as a team and help out anyway you can to win the league! I don't like his attitude at all... I don't wanna compare him to a manc but Ole gunnar solkjear never moaned about being on the bench all the time, he studies the game, comes on and score important goals. And that's the reason the mancs won alot of league titles. because they had players who accept that they were part of a team. I'm sorry to say this but Ryan Babel will never be half the player Solkjear was. Unbelieveable.

He wants to play dont know why people are up in arms over it, Crouch left cause he wanted to play every game.
If babel was doing a Pennant fair enough, but hes not.
Fair enough his agent shouldnt have come out in the dutch media and said it, but its no secret he wants to play, I mean torres is out and he still isnt getting a chance what would you think if you where him?

well ciggy, I believe that the move he was engineering would be in January? and that's where I have a problem with. Your team is leading the league and needs all the help it can get. You don't try to get away from the team in mid-season. If it's during the summer, I won't have any qualms about it. And my outburst is BECAUSE I've put myself in his shoes. If I were in his shoes I would never ever ask for a loan move in the middle of the season and would help out the team as much as I can. He just comes across as selfish and individualistic. And football is a team sport.

PS. if the loan move was indeed meant to be in the summer than forget what i said.
