Thereis nothing wrong with "us people" mate. What was your goal at the start of the season? I didn't for a minute expect us to go out and win the league, not with our recent history in mind. I just wanted to be in the title race for a change, and that's where we are, and i'm made up to be there. And this without our 2nd most important player fit and firing for pretty much the whole season. Too many posters on here overlook the loss of (a top of his) Torres to this team, he gives every single player in the side an extra 10% when he is playing. Without him we are a VERY different team and have to make to with some of the workmanlike displays we have seen in recent weeks. There has been more criticism (it seems) of Benitez this season than any other and it's this mentality that led to the manger taking a grilling from a bunch of pundits (no surprise there) and a collection of OUR OWN FANS the other day! It's madness. What must the guy be thinking?

And you wonder why people get pis...sed when they come on here after a win and the main (and often only) focus for half the posts on here is on the negatives :no

Our two biggest results this season came against our rivals in the big four and that is the very reason we are sitting where we are right now. You can talk about the importance of the results against the smaller teams but it is in the games against our rivals that we usually screw it up. Each win gives us a 6 point swing and is the reason we can struggle to goaless draws against the likes of Stoke and West Ham and STILL sit at the top of the table. If we can beat Cheslsea and Arsenal at home and get a draw away at the Trafford you can bet we will finish in the top two this season.

I know that and if it wasnt for Arsenal we wouldnt have been top either but all that is behind us now... It'll take something special like you said there for us to stay top of the league, but if we keep dropping points against smaller teams itll be almost impossible to win the league... thing is it only takes a bad result or two and you find yourself chasing not one but two clubs who are always likely to get all 3 points wherever they go..... the margin of error in terms of results is very narrow and atm we seem to e walking a line way too fine for my liking... im loving every second of being top of the league but in my mind its just a mattter of time before the buble bursts and we'r all back to talking about points dropped against stoke, fulham...etc etc
we'r top but imo NOW is the time to improve things and try to get our act together...

And number 9... give it a rest wont ya ...we know your the best of fans and have nothing critical or negative to say ever but not everyone is as great an individual and fan as you are...

Its got nothing to do with being a bigger fan,its looking at things as a whole!
The reality is we are top of the League and nowhere near our best,we have also been mostly without IMO the best striker in the world.
Now think of us playing to our potential, playing well and being in the same position.Say we had hit top form by now and were in the same position, top by 1 point!
How would you feel then?
I for sure would be worried that we could not keep our form until the end of the season. The reality is though that we are usually a lot better in the second half of the season.
And I would bet my ballbag that we will be a lot better this time too, especially if Nando comes back(which he will) and finds form.

Your point about dropping points to "weaker" opposition is a valid one..no one can deny that it has been dissapointing to draw with Stoke,W Ham etc.But its history now and all Rafa and the players can do now is make sure we do everything we can to put these games to bed in future.

You say give it a rest, its nothing personal but I just get annoyed when i read peoples posts that are ALWAYS about the negatives. You rarely if ever have anything positive to say about LFC,if you ever have I have not seen it.
All this if we loose a few games we are out of it cr@p.
Well that applies equally to Man UTD and Chelsea,we are all in the same boat...But we have the advantage, albeit a very slim one.
I just thank feck that we are not 11 or 12 points off the top by now that we are usually cause I'd hate to see the shi'te you and your fellow whingers would be coming out with then!

seriously mate... I'm not sure who you really support... WE won that game... Blackburn didn't fall apart... end of... now you can go have your sorry little moaning cause you can't complain anymore...

Don't talk shïte you fücking moron.  :talktothehand

It was a bad performance by Liverpool and Blackburn were worse in the second half than they were in the first. They left a lot of gaps that we exploited and ended up with three decent goals.

Only a fool would think otherwise.

Nobody with an ounce of intelligence would have a problem with my original sentence.

It was a poor performance by Liverpool, but it was the right result.

if you have a an ounce of intelligence, you'll see that I wasn't talking about our performance... but the fact is that WE won it because we stepped up, blackburn did not collapsed... it's as simple as that... get your facts right and get your support for your own team right... stop moaning a little and you'll start to enjoy more and live longer...  :;):

As has been put by somebody else, Blackburn ran out of steam. Which they clearly did.

They started to leave a lot of space in their defence and Liverpool moved in to take advantage and as somebody else has said, 3-1 was a very flattering scoreline.

Blackburn certainly didn't look like the team they were in the first half.

Why are you getting you knickers in a twist over this? There's is absilutely nothing wrong with what I am saying about the game.

It might have been said - no time to read the entire thread !! Just how many of the negative whingers were calling for the utterly useless Benayoun to be taken off UNTIL HE SCORED? Be honest, I know I wanted him off at half time and I don't put myself in the fkn moaning, whingeing, negative and suicidal brigade! Benayoun took his goal brilliantly and against West Ham last Monday he was one of our best players. He is tricky to support because he get's it wrong most of the time.

Gerrard had a mare and any other player would have been subbed - HE SCORED AS WELL! Easy job being a manager!

As for Babel. My patience has run out. He is given a serious chance in the starting line up and most of the time he looked as if he wasn't interested. I just don't think he has the necessary desire or footballing intelligence to play at Liverpool's level.

Good result and not half as bad as a lot would make out. Nothing is easy. Man U nearly slipped up against Sunderland ffs and everybody had that as an absolute Man U banker before the game started!

It's worth remembering that the likes of Babel are NOT playing reserve team football when they are not seeing much time in the first team, same goes for the likes of Lucas and Bennayoun. It's tougher to turn it on when your rusty and haven't got a lot of football or form under your belt.
