5 years and 3 months - At last!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I am sure, like me, once we went one-nil down just before half time against Man City, be honest, like me you thought here we go again, another defeat..........................No, well forgive me for being the eternal pessimist, after the last ride we have had under GH, I immediately feared the worst.

I am not one for statistics, but not since we beat Spurs in May 1999, have we managed to overturn a half time deficit.

5 yrs and 3 months of diminished mental resolve to be able to change a game plan in order to dig out a win against the odds............. fcukin remarkable and a fcukin disgrace!!!  :p

I for one am glad that this is one statistic that has been wiped, and hope that it is a sign of the times for the future under the Rafa revolution.  :D

Come on you reds another 40 unbeaten games, we should of wrapped up the EPL by then!!

Funny enough, asked this morning when was the last time we overturned a deficit - let alone a half time one!

Perhaps that is Plan A!

last year when we played them we went 1-0 down, then took the lead after being 1-0 down at half time then we f*cked up in the last 10 secs of the game and fowler equalised :(
Steve Gerrard Gerrard,
He'll pass the ball 40 yards,
He's quick and he's f*cking hard,
Steve Gerrard Gerrard.

Thats a ****** statistic. United had a similar one before they beat spurs in that 5-3 game. Mainly because they never went in goals down at half time.

FA Cup final anybody?

Stats like this are garbage.

Stu, I presume you mean the 2001 FA Cup final when we came back to win 2-1, but you'll remember it was 0-0 at half time, Arsenal scored in the second half :;):

I must say I find that stat pretty shocking, we've been behind in plenty of matches at half time in the last few years and to never have gone on and won a match in over five years is poor.

We've certainly been ahead and gone on to draw or lose a match enough times in the last couple of seasons, it was becoming our hallmark last year.

I thought we turned over a half time deficit against Charlton the season before last at home? I remember the atmosphere after Gerrard grabbed that second goal, when we were staring defeat in the face :)
It might not have been 1-0 at half time though, but I thought it was.

ah well, my memory fails me. That is a remarkable statistic, but it's good if it means we did not usually conceed before half time.

I can remember Traore fu***ing up at the Anfield rd end letting in Bartlett to score. Sami and Stevie got the goals to clinch the win at the kop end.
