Liverpool v west ham

It does'nt matter who ya play and when, home or away IMO
Take just two examples of many...We draw at home to W ham..but go to Chelsea and beat them(something that had not been done in almost 4 years)
Arsenal beat UTD but loose to Fulham.
Every game is a potential banana skin
There are many more examples, and we are only 15 games in!
I think we lack motivation at times. We get geared up for big games and get results. We have played better when we go behind,2-0 down to city, coming back and winning 3-2!
The ability to play better is there,i just feel the manager and the players need to get together and treat games against "lower teams" with the same approach to the "bigger teams".
Last night we were not up for it enough from the whistle, maybe im wrong but sometimes I feel some players feel 3 points are in the bag before the game has kicked off and just dont try hard enough!

Some right whoppers in here  :kungfu:

Very unconvincing performance but we can only reassess and move on - and at least it's now in hour hands.

Before the season began, I'd have taken the position we're now in all day long. We're clear at the top and have 23 games to see what we can do; a brilliant position to be in.

One thing i have noticed is that the tempo can be far too flat at times and slow paced in the early parts of games.
Last night we were knocking it around the back early on and passing it around pretty well but not moving the ball quick enough or purposfully enough.
By the time we got it into attacking areas most of the time west ham had got every man behind the ball in banks of four, which no matter who your playing against can make things difficult.
We are at our best when we tear out the blocks, it rattles the opposition and gets the crowd going.
Far too often we appear to be cruising as if we think lets be patient the goals will come. Now sometimes they will but other times we have allowed the other team to get into the game giving them a belief that they can get something when its likely that at the start before kick off they were not expecting much.
Its not a lack of effort more a lack of urgency imo.

Undoubtedly true, mate, but tell me, how are we meant to take posters who suggest that:

-Rafa's a "fecking idiot" who's trying to stick it to the poor fans and should be bombed out in favour of Harry Redknapp

OR

-Rafa's a clown that should be sacked at this stage so we can get Kenny Dalglish in to salvage the season

OR

-There's only a Big Three in the Premiership and we're not part of it because of the gulf in class between us and Arsenal/Chelsea/Man U

When I read stuff like that it's hard not to conclude that the poster in question is completely blinkered or on a wind-up.  :glare:

Again, I ask, do you REALLY believe there isn't a class difference between Liverpool and the other three?

Honestly?

Hold on a second here! Who the f*ck done United and Chelsea already this season? What was it, 4 or 5 years unbeaten at home Chelsea were? Who done them? That's right, we f*cking did. Who knocked Arsenal out of the CL last year and Chelsea 2 seasons running, and should have been three, before it? Was that us? Oh, yeah - that's right, I think it was. Who's top of the table? Oops, that's us again. You'd have had a slight point last season with the other two, but don't keep suggesting Arsenal are a class above us, because that's just a myth. Again, Arsenal have done f*ck all worth of merit the past 4 seasons to be worthy of being knocked with them.

And, if you people REALLY think there's no difference between the quality of Liverpool's game and Chelsea, Man Utd and Arsenal, then you you have your heads up your :censored:.:D

Well go and watch them then , instead of having to put up with the dross we play , and maybe there will be a few less boo's.

You child.

You come across a point you don't agree with and resort to a post like that.

:no

Child  :D  I like it , i really do . Take a look back at your post and tell me it's not childlike to suggest that there's a gulf in class between us and the other three ? Then come back and tell me ,who is top of the league ?

Do you honestly believe there is no difference in general quality?

Yes I do, I honestly believe we're a better side than Arseanl.

It's probably fair to say that we've had a fairly easy first fifteen matches in comparison to the the other big four teams (particularly the Mancs who have had a brutal start and are now ominously close to us), but we are in front albeit by a small margin.

Thats the worrying thing.

All they do is moan ,take pictures ,or talk on there mobiles . its disgraceful. The rows i had with some of them day trippers is unbelievable, Thats why i prefer going to away games now you dont get the moaners you get fans getting behind the team. we all moan about what the best team is .an we all have a go at some point in saying hes :censored:. But do it in the pub or when your not at the game , When your at the game get behind the team.

I cringed last night when i heard the booing . It was :censored: disgraceful an anyone who booed last night should be ashamed an all. We are LFC we do not boo our :censored: team.

i was at the game last nite and was angry with the booing too, i mean yeah it was disapointing but we should be getting behind the team. The positive thing is that we are creating a lot and surley its only a matter of time before the lads start sticking them away. At the start of the season, if you would of said to me leading up to xmas we would be 1 point ahead of Chelsea 6 points ahead of Man Utd and 8pts ahead of Arsenal i would of bit your :censored: hand clean off!!!! We are in a great position and one you whant to be in and im proud of our boys :buttrock

So lads and lady's if you did boo last nite please get behind the team.

On a positive note i must say was anyone else impressed with dossena....for me he kept things simple and got forward and put some great crosses in. Not sure what it is with him but he looked more assured last nite, maybe its just confidence???
Also i must say Sami Hyppia  :bowdown was :censored: imense last nite his reading of the game makes up for his obvious lack of pace.....i hope he gets a new contract!!!

Big fuckin deal. So we got some lucky breaks with the goals in the Utd and Chelsea games...so what?

That still doesn't change the fact, yes THE FACT, that they are stronger teams than Liverpool. By a large margin.

In the case of the Chelsea game, Alonso go a LUCKY deflection.

That's DEFLECTION.

Liverpool then spent the rest of the game with two rows of four defending that lucky in off.

So Liverpool knocked Arsenal out of the CL, so what?

Spurs tore Liverpool a new :censored: a couple of weeks ago, does that make them a better team than Liverpool? Of course it doesn't.

The other three teams play better flowing football, they can attack and finish with convincing moves and they have put up a challenge for the title in the last few years.

If you cannot, or will not see the obvious difference in quality between the teams in question, then you you just shouldn't be talking about football at all.

Having a love for Liverpool is one thing, but if it obscures the obvious, then your opinion isn't worth listening too.

Liverpool are EXTREMELY lucky to be where they are at the moment. 90% of the games have been touch and go and the recent draws against the so called "Lesser Teams" is just reality landing down on our heads with a thump. Bar Everton and West Brom, we haven't really beaten anyone with real conviction and the includes the much touted Utd and Chelsea games.

We're on top by a single point, that's all. It's December.

Frankly, I'm not expecting much out of the Blackburn game and will take a boring 1-0 snorefest, just to keep the mickey mouse gap we have.
