Well just take a look at the stats for the Chelsea v Newcastle game that was played on 22nd Nov this year - Chelsea had 33 shots and 9 on target - Newcastle had 2 shots and neither were on target. Try convincing me that Newcastle are any better than West Ham - you won't!  Chelsea also let things slip against Arsenal after leading 1-0. Chelsea's home record this season is also not very clever and if it continues it will not win them the league.

If ever there was a time to get behind our team it is now. The BOOING doesn't help. Cheering the team on when they are struggling does! The KOP made more noise about freeing Michael Shields than getting behind the team last night and the BOOS at the end - well shame on them they don't deserve to see the team win anything - THEY ARE NOT TRUE SUPPORTERS !!
It is a very many seasons since Liverpool have been top of the League and I fully appreciate that some of it hasn't been pretty. Surely that would suggest that we can get better? Listening to Ian St.John moaning that the board must give Rafa the funds that he needs in January to secure the title! Rafa has spent virtually the same as Ferguson over the last 4/5 years - circa £26m a year and that takes into account the players he has sold. Rafa has had massive support from the board since he came to Anfield - St.John and a few others need to stop whinging and appreciate what we have got. Rafa through some awful team selection got himself into a right mess during the early stages of last seasons Champions League. If we had gone out during the group stages I think he would only have himself to blame if he had been sacked. He is still learning. Look were we are now in the CL and the title race.Let's do our job and support them and leave them to do theirs. The team are under more pressure than they have been for a very long time - WE CAN HELP!

The difference is Chelsea looked like they were going to win. They created clear cut chance after clear cut chance. We have a couple of half chances. Thats about it.

There's no difference ,both teams got a point . Stu , your fishing mate , your on a complete wind up . You know your talking and your trying to back it up by talking more sh!te. See this is the frustration I have with a lot of doom-n-gloomers.  It's not that they're expressing concerns--heaven knows we were poor last night and I've said so from the off--it's what they are expressing concerns about.  Sitting Agger down was not the reason we drew last night.  Nor, I doubt, was it down to who gave the half-time team talk.*  No, I think we drew last night because we have a team that, overall, lacks the creativity to break down obstinate defenses--particularly when the lads are playing scared, as they were last night (fluffing shots right, left and centre, making bad decisions with the ball, etc.).  On top of that, Rafa got the substitutions wrong.  It was a bad night at the office and I hope we learn some lessons from it while we're still in a good position.


*Lakes, your fixation with Sammy Lee seems all out of proportion to me.  I don't doubt he's had a positive influence on the side but you come across like he's some messiah figure who's the real mastermind behind our title challenge so far.  Lemme guess, you thought Pako was the brains behind the operation too?

Yeah, but Pako was! Or at least he had the brains to cast doubt on the signing of Babel 

If we are TOTALLY HONEST, we have had a lot of games this season that could have gone either way, and we could just as easily drawn or lost them as won them. You can't keep playing with fire without getting burned, and we have been badly scorched in the last couple of weeks.

We have dominated possession, but without players who can finish we were always likely to come unstuck sooner or later. We need to not only start creating more chances but taking them, and without Torres and with Gerrard playing deeper we just don't have ANYONE.

It doesn't matter if you play 4-4-2 or 4-2-4 if the strikers can't score. While Torres is out I think Gerrard has to play second striker, as he's the only player we can rely on to get a few goals.

Quality post this, but not in a good way. Benitez' statistics of substitutions making an impact in a game have been better than any manager in the league over the past 4 years. There was a very insightful thread about this over at RAWK with plenty of stats for all you stats whores and doubters. Do a bit of research before you start spouting off.

As for the game, I'm seriously disappointed with us not making up more ground than what we should be. Our confidence just seems a bit low at the minute for some reason. We're perhaps slightly just lacking a player, bar Torres of course, of being good enough to eventually win the title this season, but who knows. If we get to January and we're still top of the table, who could ask for more than that?

Oh, we all can have a go at the players and even the manager, but people seem to omit the fact that the fans inside Anfield have been f*cking shyte, lets be honest about it. There's some quality whoppers going to the game, and it's a disgrace that 1000 or so West Ham fans out sang everyone inside Anfield tonight. The players need to show passion, aye, but so do you w@nkers inside the ground. Where the f*ck has the atmosphere gone to that we're meant to be so famous for? Sort it f*cking out!

Try going to the game yourself you uptight arrogant peice of shite and spending thousands of pounds a year of your own money on traveling to games before you slag off the people that are going and contribute to the club.

Yes hopefully indeed. If we do lose to blackburn i think there will be many suicides here. 

Im annoyed and frustrated as any other co fan. Lets just hope we get our act together. As i said before i still cant see much goals comming from us without torres. Damn the spanish training. 
January will be quite interesting to see what happens. Just hope rafa uses that time to grab a GOOD player. We must win our next few games. If chelshitski and mannure win thier next few match (which i feel they will) and we continue to slump then for defos in january will be 3rd atleast.
