Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Ciggy » Mon Aug 23, 2004 10:02 am

Just read this nice to see someone is giving us praise :D  :D
cheers robo wish could say the same for the toon :p
Newcastle manager Sir Bobby Robson believes Liverpool's new signings Xabi Alonso and Luis Garcia are two astute captures by Rafael Benitez and will improve the team.
Robson, one of the most respected managers in the game, knows all about Spanish football having managed Barcelona in La Liga and says Alonso and Garcia are two of the most exciting talents around.

Robson said: "Liverpool have made two very good buys in Alonso and Garcia I can tell you that. They will enhance their team and Liverpool will be there or there abouts come the end of the season."

NEWS STORY
THOMMO - RAFA WILL DO WELL
Steve Hunter 23 August 2004
Former Liverpool assistant manager Phil Thompson has given his full backing to new boss Rafael Benitez and believes he will do very well at Anfield.
Despite the appointment of Benitez meaning Thompson lost his job the former Reds captain says he has no bitterness towards the club and added he still wants to see Liverpool challenging for the major honours in the game.

Thompson said: "It's a big turnaround at Anfield since I left but I think Rafa deserves every right to change things round and bring in players.

"Things did need to be changed without a doubt and it has been a brave decision to bring in Spanish players and Spanish coaches. I think Rafa deserve a chance.

"Rafa did his stuff at Valencia winning titles and the fans are looking forward to this season. I think he will do very well and he needs time. I have been impressed with Josemi who is more defensive than Steve Finnan and for me he was man of the match in the opening game with Tottenham."

Haven`t heard any compliment from sir Alex yet :D

I bet he`s about to sh** his pants, admitting to the fact that the days of manure glory are past. I can`t help laughing when I think of him, less that two seasons ago, suggesting that we ought to offer GH a life time contract   :D

nice one, Sir Bobby. I still feel that Bobby Robson was very unfairly squeezed out of the England job when in 1990 he was given the aim of finishing as champions or his contract would not be renewed.

Fast forward to 2002 and 2004, Ericsson was never given this target although he is one of the best paid coached in the world. Otto Rehhagel would have done far better with the English players Ericsson had with much less pay...

Yeah but I bet Rehhagel doesn't have as much success with the ladies.

Ive been tormenting my mates with with texts of cisses gonna get ya for weeks now. I had to admit here im sorry I stole it for a while. Now I see you look like that (well maybe anyway) I think perhaps being got wouldnt be so bad.

:D

Oh yeah Sir Bobby thread, well what can I say. He knows more about Spanish football than we do but did anyone see him talking to GH. Again I must admit that it thought it was quite sad. I really do get the sence for him that it was more than just a job he genuinly was one of us but unfortunatly he failed and ironically Sir Bobby has suffered the same fate but at least our board backed the manager until the last min. Sir Bobs has been left out to dry by Sheppard and I hope the effect on the team over the course of the season makes that fat Geordie regret his actions.
The man who came to merseyside from Newcastle, the man who says he's part of Liverpool as much as the Liver building. When he was needed Alan Kennedy was there. And with now just 8 minutes to go it could be that Alan Kennedy has made a little history.

Maybe Ericksson is very well endowed.  That could explain why he never gets up from his seat during matches.

I bet he could coach a fantastic orgy though.
