When are you going to give up on the Owen lad? He is never coming back and rightfully so.

Agree.....& dont want him back, far to injury prone,be just paying silly wages & not getting a good enough return!

Six goals this season isn't it, more than injury prone Torres and more than misses Keane. In fact six in just eleven games, so he gets injured a few times but then again that could be down to the Newcastle air because a lot of players go up to St Jim Jams Park and get more than their fair share of injuries.

And remind me again where are newcastle in the table and how many goals does their top scorer have and the next for them compared to ours .

You could say exactly the same thing about N'gog.

He scored in two of the three preseason games he played. Other than that he's played two games and had limited time as a minor sub in another two.

Still has plenty of time to prove himself

Babel is a fine example of someone who has all the ability in the world but a lazy attitude. And spouting rubbish to the press (although it could be tabloid :censored:) is just a pathetic way to go about having a moan. How about you stay behind after practice and improve passing and movement, your stamina and and your game intelligence? Lazy footballers, think they have made it... You never stop learning in whatever you do!!!

At least with Dossena he is still rated in Italy. I cant think of anyone who would even pay 9Mil for Babel.

Can't say I blame him. Last season, I thought he could be the new john  Barnes. But it is a definate tactic by Benitez to keep him as sub and use him as a weapon, due to recent results.

Reminds me of Mohammed Sissoko. I thought we should have kept him as I think he is better in quality going forward than Alonso or Maschaerano, he got cheesed off on the bench, and now he plays for Juventus every week in Midfield. Class IMO. Crouch left too for the same reason. Not enough games.

I have got a feeling that Robbie Keane 20m etc has got a clause in his contract saying he has to "play if fit". he gets in ahead of Babel and others. But I am not fooled and, despite Robbie's entusiasm do not think he offers more than a Crouch or Bellamy in terms of goals/ workrate. Overated etc.

I do not want to lose Babel. Rafa is using his Judgement etc and fair play to him. If we win the title, fairplay. BUt that is a big ask being realistic going from 4th to 1st in a season. No one has ever done it, and if Babel leaves I would be gutted.
I dont wat to see Ryan for 15-20 mins a match. The lad is class.
I will only Judge Rafa's decisions come May ultmiately. 3rd or worse place has got to be "Decision" time by the board IMO this season. (Whichever board is in charge LOL) Up to Rafa. Only thing that worries me about Rafa, he buys players, like Fowler, Sissoko, Garcia, Bellamy, Crouch, Pelligrino etc and then he gets Rid early doors. He is a brave man.

Benauyoun, Plessis, Lucas.....Dross IMO.  Lucas is not even in the same boat as Sissoko, the new premiership Viera!

Bemused:  ???

Sissoko a better offensive player than Mascher and Alonso? The Sissoko who couldn't aim a pass 9 times out of 10, and who scored 1 goal in his Anfield career?

*Sniffs up.

- Smells like bullsh*t to me... Have you been at the glue again?
