WE SHOULD KILL HEALTHY PEOPLE FOR THEIR ORGANS

Suppose Bill is a healthy man without family or loved ones. Would it be ok painlessly to kill him if his organs would save five people, one of whom needs a heart, another a kidney, and so on? If not, why not?

Consider another case: you and six others are kidnapped, and the kidnapper somehow persuades you that if you shoot dead one of the other hostages, he will set the remaining five free, whereas if you do not, he will shoot all six. (Either way, he'll release you.)

If in this case you should kill one to save five, why not in the previous, organs case?

If in this case too you have qualms, consider yet another:

You're in the cab of a runaway tram and see five people tied to the track ahead. You have the option of sending the tram on to the track forking off to the left, on which only one person is tied. Surely you should send the tram left, killing one to save five.

But then why not kill Bill?

what if the person whom you killed is a friend of one of the survivors. and the survivor ends up killing you a few days later (revenge). so you still die...

I have heard another version of the train one where the train on its normal track will go and kill the five ppl tied up, but you are standing on a bridge next to a severly obeese man and you calculate that if you push him over he will be able to slow the train down enough to stop it from killing the other 5 people. Do you push the fat man over the bridge?

I think its only a matter of time before we start breeding humans for their organs, or possibly using 3rd world countries as a good source of organs. Think of all the great minds and talents that we could save, people who could make important differences in the world, rather than some primative native who's only contribution is to make more hungry children.

As for "possibly using 3rd world countries as a good source of organs" , it's already happening mate. Saw a report recently were a "medical unit" was arrested in India. They'd been traveling around the backwaters of India offering free medical examinations and treatment. Many poor farmers were suckered into undergoing operations to cure bogus conditions only to have a kidney stolen ! In the most extreme cases "patients" died during the operation, authorities assume the perpetrators in these instances wanted more than just a kidney, but India's culture of burning the bodies of the deceased leaves no evidence to support this assumption.

Did ya not see the news?In Spain doctors grew a girl a new trachea from her own body(stem cells i think)
and successfully fitted it to her throat..apparently shes fecking delighted and Sabre is too cause the missus can do deepthroat again!

Joking aside,its worked and she doe'snt need to take anti rejection drugs,like ya do if you get a part from a donor!
Scientists/doctors are capable of making body parts from you and transplanting them in,they have been doing it in animals for years!
Governments dont seem keen probably cause its expensive,plus it takes the pi$$ outta the natural mortality rate!
If ya were rich enough you could pay some fecker to grow ya a lot of spares..its a cert Peewee has a fridge full of kidneys,livers and ears for when he gets older! :nod

As for the stem cell research Barry, it will take years before that is a common practise, in the meantime, lets keep all the great scientists going as long as possible by giving them new parts as the old ones wear out. That way it won't take as long, and will save more lives in the long run.

apparently some people in 3rd world countries are quite advanced now and even have their own metal spoons.

anyway, feck the organ transplants and all the stem cells business. we want bionic body parts and we want them now.

With a bit of luck, at some point making bionic-computer engineereed organs will be cheaper after mass production than breeding humans, and thus the poor children of Africa could be spared from the greedyness of a rich cúnt.

Woof's question if a fair one, although I think it doesn't matter the children himself will be a great mind. At some point of this planet, and in planetary time scale that was almost yesterday, in this planet there were humans that lived in caves. Not clever at all, and not knowing to forge metals.

From that primitive men without resources and education, full civilizations were evolved including ours. So even if a child isn't a potential great mind, who knows what future generations coming from him will bring? Look what developed from a few bacteriae millions of years ago, so who knows what will be developed from that children.

Education is not all. In fact, there are lots of people with direct access to education whose thinking is barbarian or as simple as the laws of jungle: Strong-predator ones live, the weak dies. One would hope that education would bring human's thoughts a step beyond that laws, but no, at the end of the day humans are most of the time quite primitive, even with access to education.

You can all be two faced about it but if it was a member of YOUR family dying because they needed a kidney or some other organ, you would WANT them hunting it down, no matter if it came from the Pope or some other primative native with an exceedingly sharp stick.

There are millions of people dying of famine,disease etc all around the world, better they be put to some good use by providing extra life to people who can make a difference in the quality of life of future generations, than sparing them because some bleeding heart kunt thinks that a future civilisation may develop from their offspring. The reality is their offspring will be starving and dying just as miserably as they have...... because CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME!

Or should we stop funding medical research and pour all the money into saving the poor of the world? Give up our cars/TV'S/holidays/football matches and give all our money to famine relief?

Like all bleeding heart liberals you talk the talk, but not one of you would give up his TV, car etc to save lives in Africa. Come back when you have sold all your possessions and given it to famine relief. Human life is valued in £ and no one is prepared to pay the price unless its for their own or their families lives, the rest is just bullsh!t talk and a sop to your conscience. Its easy giving a few quid to make yourself feel better lets see one of you give everything...... but you would rather see little starving kids die than do that wouldn't you? You make me fkn laugh sometimes. Hard? The world is hard and if I had to rip the organ out of some little kids belly myself to save a member of my family ...... just show me to the box of scalpels.

So which is worse wasting billions on new cars and fancy clothes rather than saving lives, or harvesting a few organs and investing in the future of mankind? If by harvesting organs they can provide longer life to a scientist who will one day provide a cure for cancer or something its worth it, and before you all start crying about it with your FALSE TEARS just ask yourself which would you want saved, the nomark in a third world country or the person who could save your son or daughters life?

how dare you use the term nomark to describe someone who through no fault of his own finds himself born into poverty, now because of this you want to harvest his organs because in your eyes he`s nothing, tell you what saint no member of your family mean anything to me so if ever i need a transplant you wont mind a member of your family providing it for me.

if you want to harvest organs try the prisons in this country
