Kirklands injured.

2-0 up, 2 away goals should be in the bag, especially given the apparent quality of Graz, but given the importance of qualification I wouldn't take any chances. Start with the 1st team, make sure Graz aren't going to play the match of their lives and then sub the big names when the win is guaranteed.

Can someone tell me why the 2 new boys cant be involved in the match? Is this a registration thing again?

something like that, they had to be registered 2 weeks before the game.  But they will be able to play in the group stage

well you have to register the squad for the qualifing games and after you have qualified you then register your squad for the group stages and obviously alonso and garcia and nunez for that matter evn tho he is injured did not sign in time for the deadline of the qualifing stages

There are times where resting a player can be contra-productive. If you think you need to rest, lets say, Stevie, you have to make sure that he get the message (intended to avoid burn-out) or else he would feel that he is "banned" for some dissapointing performances/statement/action/commitment.

i'd tell stevie he's going to be on the bench because he is a key player and it's going to be a long season.  you may be super Stevie, but your not Superman! ???

I'm unsure about resting players in a game like this, like Chiggz said were not there yet and the CL mean so much to players, fans and money for the club that it would be bad to rest players and then it blow up in our face.

Thinkin about it I'd put out the strongest team and rest people for the smaller clubs in the FA and Worthington (or whatever it's called) cups cos the CL and league matter the most but thats just my opinion.

I think we should play our first team and for them to gel together so that baros cisse an kewell start finding the net @ anfield :;):

The last part of the Grazer game we lost initiative and were pushed back on the pitch. In my opinion this was a result of us "resting" players.
In order to make sure that we qulify for CL, I wouldn`t risk anything by benching players like Stevie. If we lead comfortably at half time, then I might have considered it, but I would then rest the players who have been troubeled by injury, f.i. Kewell.

I think the authority have particular standard to define a player whether he is tired or not. My point is, principally similar to addicted, we should employ a standard squad and only to be modified due to injuries or tired/burn-out (per standard definition).

resting players is out of the question we all prayed to finish 4th last season lets not go in to an important like this thinking the game is won, we should put them to the sword and show europe our intensions, 5  0 or more thats what we should be looking for. lets get the big euro nites back.:) :) :)

agree but not Kewell. give him a rest for his injury sake. Warnock should play. he dares to try and looks very promising
