what about degan? fecking hell he is so :censored: words fail me!!
come back JAR all is forgiven.

Comparing Degen's performance to Dossena's is like comparing a lump of coal to a pile of :censored:.

one is useless the other makes everything around it stink.

Agreed apart from Nando who needed a run out

Those 11 players that took the field should be ashamed of themselves, they clearly were not up for it.

Torres, Riera, and Alonso should not have travelled and Insua should have started. Dossena is looking like the worst signing of the summer, he is total garbage.

Cavalieri (5) – Should not have come out for Campbell’s goal and kept parrying the ball back in to the box.
Degen (4) – Kept getting caught out of position and not bothering not get back.
Agger (6) – O.K
Hyypia (6) – Rusty
Dossena (2) – Just a cr@p player and Rafa’s worst signing for this club
El Zhar (5) – Did better when moved into the centre, non existent in the first half.
Lucas (4) – Rubbish performance, completely lacking confidence.
Plessis (5) – O.K
Babel (5) – Failed to make a serious impact.
Ngog (3) – Was he even on the field?
Torres (4) – Looked seriously rusty and not up for the game.

This was a great opportunity for a lot of players and showed that the simply can’t be relied on.

How can these refs demand respect, when they keep on making bad calls game after game?

I dont think anyone is to pi$$ed off that we are out of this completion. A day out in the final would be nice but at what expense.

I think we all know what is important this season

The only players who showed any passion and skill were Agger, Hyppia and Babel. I can't blame Torres although he was as bad as I've ever seen him and Alonso did well when he came on. El Shar had a few good touches that's about it. In comparison the Spurs players looked like they had a point to prove, shame our players don't have that type of manager who can get them motivated.  :no

But the thing is mate, how much motivation do they need?
Most of the players picked should have had something to prove, play well and you just might force your way into a league challenging side.
The buck stops with the players on this one, the team put out was good enough to give them a go, they just let there selves down, and when half a side is playing that poor it drags everyone down, youe CB is having to be a FB, your so called attacking mid is having to be the defencive mid and so on.
I would only say DOSSENA, N gog and Plessis(sp) were p!ss poor but thats enough to affect the rest.

I think you've got those two mixed up. Lucas was the white lad who was looking for the ball and passing to his team-mates. Plessis was the polar opposite.

I think that's why Arsenal look so good. They've got a group of young players who are used to playing with each other in the reserves. If you look at our line up tonight, not only do they not play together, most of those players have hardly kicked a ball competitively all season.

Spot on mate.

As I said earlier, that was a collection of players we put out tonight, not a team.  There was only really going to be one outcome really when you're playing against a full strength Premiership side, let alone a resurgent one on their home patch, who are busting a gut to defend their trophy.

But then what choice does Benitez have??  The fringe players like Degen, Lucas, Hyypia, Ngog etc don't even get a game in the reserves as they're normally on the bench for the first team.  If Rafa doesn't play them in a game like tonight, in favour of playing our full reserve side, they'll get pi.ssed off.

In days gone by people like Hyypia, Pennant, Lucas etc would be getting a regular game in the reserves so they were sharp when called upon for the first team.  Now they don't.  There is something wrong with the set-up imo, too many players caught in limbo between the reserves and the first team.

I think your being generous with plessis CHL, overrun by zokora and he and lucas gave spurs alot of space. his game reading has been awful today.

A lesson learned for Rafa maybe RJ? seeing some of the fringes he put out arent good enough?
