What a team we are going to have

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Ciggy » Sat Aug 21, 2004 10:07 am

Reading reports this morning sugests we are future PL and maybe CL winners, its looking like we have a very bright future and im so glad we got a manager who knows what hes talking about, I for one have got no doubts in the new players hes signed were as under houllier (the next zidane aka Bruno cheyrou ? ) Dont think this manager will be saying hes the next maradona or pele :p .
He seems to me to be absolutly over the moon to be our manager aswell he has goals in his life he wishes to fullfill and he will do it for us.
Bring the  league title to us Raffa and you'll never walk alone

Boys and girls make some noise for our new gaffa today heres what hes said so he can give us a wave after the game when we win 3-0 :D
Why didnt no one spot Alonso @ tottenham

Rafael Benitez has promised Liverpool fans that his four new Spanish signings will definitely improve the Reds' chances of success this season.
Xabi Alonso and Luis Garcia signed in at Anfield yesterday while Josemi will make his debut against Manchester City today and the injured Antonio Nunez will watch from the sidelines as Liverpool open their home campaign.

With Michael Owen and Danny Murphy having departed Benitez knows there will be some who claim the club is losing its English heart. But he insists his new signings will improve the team and he is asking the supporters to trust his judgement in the transfer market.

Benitez said: "It is easy to talk about an English spirit but for me the most important thing is to have good professionals.

"The four Spanish players we have will work hard for the club. Nobody should say Josemi is a Spanish or an English defender, just that he is a good Liverpool player.

"Josemi is like Jamie Carragher, he has a great mentality, he's aggressive, he has all the things a winning team needs.

"Nunez is a good winger who can get up and down throughout a game. He's important for a team that wants to play wide.

"Alonso is a clever player, good with short and long passing, good positioning and is always looking to improve and Luis Garcia can play left, right, centre or as a striker. He is always looking to attack, he will get ten goals a season from midfield, and he will bring balance to the team.

"I know these players and they are great professionals. They won't be in the disco or in parties, they are good professionals who are always thinking about football and they will help us get to a good level.

"Take Alonso for example. He watched the game at Tottenham, he analysed it, and he came to me with three or four suggestions on what we could do to improve. Normally he studies videos of every opponent and he is already analysing Liverpoolin great detail. He is extremely professional. He wants information all the time. All of these players just love football. I am sure the fans will like them because they are all honest."

Just don't get too confident or you could be shot down and feel really bad.  Just treat each game on its merits  :D  :D  :D

rafa is bringing in a new era, new ideas , new players , lets all give him a little time. he will put us back where we belong.since dalglish left, rafa is the only manager with the bottle to speak his mind . the club has being dormant for years. how well rafa has done in spain reflects on the players he signed they all regard him as a man and a coach.i  personally think the future is scouse:) :) :) :)
