All the faults were on display again...a single man up front, no real support, terrible terrible passing and snap shots and generally weak attempts at finishing.

A very, very poor performance that exposes Liverpool's serious short comings in the attacking part of the field.

But by far the worst aspect from tonights game was the incredibly poor passing. Everyone was guilty of giving the ball away in the most cheap manner. Especially bad tonight was Alvaro Arbeloa. A truly pathetic performance. I lost count at how many times Liverpool gave the ball away in the first half.

Hopefully Torres will be fully fit soon, because Rafa is running low on "get out of jail cards".

:(

I take it you missed Tottenhams matches then. It wasnt the worst performance not by a long shot. The main and obvious problem was pinging a high ball into the six yard area with noone there to attack it. We ended up resorting to long shots from Gerrard, Alonso, Carragher and Agger getting forward at set pieces because of the better height advantage he has over Keane. We really need to sort out our approach play going forward to compensate for the lack of height we have there.

Had Torres been playing I think we would have been out of sight by the 70 min mark. As much as I like Keane (he played well tonight) and think he'll score goals I think we need another goal scorer. The game was screaming out for a Michael Owen.

£4m for Owen in the Jan transfer window might not be a bad shout Rafa :;):

Or play Babel as a central striker when Torres not fit  :idea

He will score goals. People doubt him be he will turn out to be a cracking player for LFC.

ur having a laugh arent you ?!

GERRARD: IT WAS A PENALTY
Paul Eaton 04 November 2008
Steven Gerrard reflected on Liverpool's last-gasp draw with Atletico Madrid at Anfield and insisted: "It was a penalty."
The Reds remained on course for Champions League qualification after Gerrard picked himself up from being fouled in the area and slotted the spot kick high into the Kop net.

The final whistle was met with vociferous appeals from the Madrid players who felt the officials had got the decision wrong - but Gerrard insists there should be no controversy around the call.

"I'll have to have another look at it, but in my mind it was a penalty," he said. "I got there first and he came into the back of me. If it had happened anywhere else on the pitch it would be a free kick, so it was a penalty.

"I can understand their disappointment because of the timing of it. If it had happened at the other end we would have been livid. But that's football and we have to move on.

"It was a big result for us tonight and a big point. Good teams usually don't lose two games in a row and so it was important we got something.

"The first half wasn't good enough and we know that. We upped it in the second half, played at a higher tempo and pressed harder. We're still in a strong position in the group now.

"We showed a lot of character tonight and we have to take that into the next league game."

------------

I believe you steven  :D

GYBS wrote:didnt create any clear chances ? ! Wtf ? Did people not watch the game ? What do you call the three chances agger had ? The ones gerrard had ? The ones keane had ? Jesus christ . And who is this quality right winger we can play ?

the three agger chances i call them 'setpieces'.. poorly defended ones as well..
gerrard had ONE .. when he tried to run through their defenders ... hardly a chance since he barely controlled the ball in the first place and the defender had him covered..
Keane had one clear cut chance and should have done better but thats the only clear cut chance that we CREATED !

and if im not mistaken we have Pennant, benayoun and Elzhar who can all play down the right...all 3 were on the bench today and none of them featured..

There was only one thing that worried me a bit tonight was the stenght and dept of our stikers

Fernando injured so we go with Keane , what have we got on the bench. We bring a young lad on who i dont know nothin about maybe hes good i dunno but it is a concern in the long term that we bring on like for like if you know what i mean. We didnt not have another quality striker on the bench
HE WHO BETRAYS WILL ALWAYS WALK ALONE

Eh no. At least the team were making some decent passes in the Spurs game. The were average in that match, but the were :censored: poor tonight, in every department.

Just because the Spurs game was a loss dosen't mean Liverpool played worse in that game than they did tonight.

Tonights game was awful, absolutely awful. No ideas, no logic in passing and hit'n'hope shots in the general direction of the goal.

Feckin brutal.

It's not the lack of height that's the real problem. It the sheer lack of any real ideas or tactics in attack. That's where Liverpool really need to do some work on.

No,but when I see we are a poor poor team and all that shi'te?
Wise up!
Constant crying,if we haven't scored a goal in the 1st 20 minutes someones having an inoperable hernia.
When did I say we had a great game? When do I say we had a great game after every game?...Show me please!
What I am saying is that we deserved a point tonight and that you and too many other little w@nkers like you are talking shi'te way too often as if its the end of the world and LFC are doomed.
The reality is that LFC are joint top on points of the toughest League in football(have to mention goal difference before Heimdall blows his fuc'king beans over Chelsea)and have 10 points from 12 in the toughest cup competition on the planet, and IF ya want to get technical perhaps the universe as well, considering I dont believe in Aliens but do class in an unalienlike racist sort of way a lot of w@nkers on here to have less brains than some tw@t from Mars..if he did exist!

Anyway

Funny, I liked the team until their first goal and I didn't like in the second half (despite I'm not that angry) what woof says about our finishing and last third of the pitch.

Just the opposite to what Gerrard says :D.

On the penalty debate, I bring a proof it was penalty.

You can clearly see how Gerrard is back-stabbed, note that the agony face bearing with a lot of pain.

Penalty claro. Clear penalty.
