what do you mean by torrid? we couldn't have hand picked a better run of fixtures imo. we should win every game.

So hang, he couldn't be arsed to jump on a plane and fly over for the game when they had planned a special reception for him, that's not so good.  :no

Yeah he preferred to stay behind and get fit as soon as possible so that he could help his new club out...... stone him!  :D

Even a 10 mon run in a spurs match would have done wonders. But maybe it is his fitness thats poor at the moment. Letss just hope he does play some part in the atletico match gain some match fitness and prepare to score 12 in his next 5 games.. :;): :;): :;):

But in that ten min run out he could of easily have tweaked it again - would rather wait to make sure he is 100% fit to play. we didnt need him to beat spurs.

Hope Nando plays, just so he can play in a match which really does mean the world to him. But i agree, i would want Nando 100% in case he hurts something, guess its up to Rafa, i reckon a 3-1 win to the Pool. Is it just me or does this match just seem like a friendly - no? ???

How on earth can you say that?
Nobody knows for sure whether we would or wouldn't have won with Torres but I am fairly certain that he would have been slightly more clinical with his finishing than most of the rest of the team were.

and you cant say for certain that torres would of made a difference . We didnt need him to beat chelsea or the mancs . The players out there are good enough to beat spurs just didnt happen . One of those days . Have won a number of games against better teams without torres .

We had a similar discussion last year to this one after the farce of Fratton park, and the Birmingham between the lines bungle. Nobody can say for certain what would have happened if Torres had played in either of those games. Equally, nobody could say for certain that if I had played up front against Spurs I wouldn't have scored from 25 yards.

You can though consider probability I think. It's unlikely I would actually have scored from 25 yards (infact there's no fecking chance tbh :D ), but equally i don't think it's stretching the balance of probability too much to think if Torres plays and he is fit, we are more likely to win football matches. You can't say for certain that we would win those games, but you can say we would have more chance of doing so.

The crucial thing with the selection or not of Torres on Saturday is was he fit? If they say he isn't, then he isn't as far as I'm concerned. It's an entirely different situation to the Keane one I think. Torres is coming back from a longish term injury, whereas Keane I think should have played on Wednesday, and having seen him Saturday I'm convinced there was next to feck all wrong with him.
