All of the 'big four' had three games in six days, but isn't it funny how nicely the fixtures fell for Chelsea and Man Utd
Man Utd
26/10 Bitters (a)
28/10 West Ham (h)
01/11 Hull (h)
7/9 points, TWO games at home and the away trip just along the road to near neighbours
Chelsea
26/10 Liverpool (h)
28/10 Hull (a)
01/11 Sunderland (h)
6/9 points, TWO games at home
Arsenal
26/10 West Ham (a)
28/10 Tottenham (h)
01/11 Stoke (a)
4/9 points, two games away
Liverpool
26/10 Chelsea (a)
28/10 Portsmouth (h)
01/11 Tottenham (a)
6/9 points, two games away
But still we went to two tough grounds in six days and won at the leaders while picking up as many points in six days as they did. We lost more ground in terms of goals, but only the mancs picked up more points - not surprising given two home games and playing away to the bitters who hadn't won at home at that point
Even though we went 14 league games before losing last season, we picked up only four more points then than we have now - with THREE games to play before reaching the same stage. We thought we might lose at SB so in a sense we're no worse off than we may well have thought we would be now before last Sunday's game.
