Ooh that has to hurt. If he is alive he isnt getting any action for a while I bet!!!!!  :D Poor girl.

Well it's over we have lost big deal. I just hope if and when the other teams drop points, we are in a position to capitalise on it.

What I dont want is for this to start a bad trend of results now as something like that can derail the season.

What do you all think was the difference today from when we went behind against City and Wigan? Why were we not able to press for that extra goal today?

A match should have been won comfortably only for Benitez to apply his old negative tactics once again, bad, aimless, and useless substitutions, LFC team should have killed this game, Spurs is very ordinary team, only for woeful and hurried shooting, the score line should read 5-0.
We will find out in the next coming days, if Benitez's team to recapture the form of last season!!.

This may actually be a good thing.  Hear me out before you string me up.

We looked so damn nervous and lacked any composure whatsoever in the last 10 minutes of the Pompey game after we had taken the lead.  We were composed throughout the game passing the ball well form back to front and around the flanks.  Then we went up a goal and started to look like we were a championship side trying to hold on to an FA cup upset over a prem side.  We just kept hoofing the ball up the pitch and nobody wanted to get on the ball and slow it down and actually find a Red shirt.

Then today we are one nil up, come under a bit of pressure and start hoofing the ball up the pitch.  We were really playing some brilliant stuff in the middle of the park for the first 60-70 minutes, but then we lost all of our composure and the pressure of being top of the table really seemed to get to us.  We seemed afraid to keep the ball and play as we had been.  Granted Babel offered us no outlet and Benayoun was worthless and we lost the unbelievable composure of Riera, but we looked shocking once again.

Hopefully with the pressure of being the league leaders off of our shoulders once again, and knowing that we need to keep getting results to stay with Chelski instead of looking over our shoulders to see who might come up from behind us we will be able to put together a performance that will last 90 minutes.  We have not had a full 90 minutes of good football yet this year.

I personally thought some of our link up play through the midfield was brilliant today.  We stretched the width of the pitch and used both flanks, but our confidence, composure, finishing and poor subs  cost us any points and our lead at the top.  Hopefully the thought of playing catch up will spur us on and when we are back on top we will look back on the last 2 matches and learn to be more composed  and play like we are champions when we are in the position to become champions.

I think we are getting closer but are still not close enough. I think with maybe another proper stiker we would have taken the 3 points today. And how awful was Babel at the end? Comepletly ineffective.

We will find out in the next coming days, if Benitez's team to recapture the form of last season!!.

The players had ALL THE CHANCES IN THE WORLD to put the game beyond Spuds.

They didn't do it.

How in god's name can you blame Rafa for that?

We bossed the game and really should have scored. Keane may have had link-up play, but he didn't score a goal !

We conceded because of our defense today. Carra and Agger had a torrid 2nd half. The goals were coming, the weather and pitch didn't help either with tired legs.

I really wish people would stop blaming Rafa. In fact, why the :censored: did Keane not score? Have a :censored: go at him ffs. Sure he was great with the link-up play, but we had nothing to show for it after Kuyt's goal in the 4th minute and we still bossed the game.

The only thing this tells me is that Keane needs to start chipping in with the goals sooner, rather than later. He's had plenty of time to bed in.

And what is negative about putting on a fresh Babel and an attacking player in Yossi? The fact that neither actually did anything useful in the final third is entirely down to their lack of desire to grab the winner. It has nought to do with Rafa's tactics, which were spot on.

The Redknapp factor was always on the card and Rafa was keen to mention that in his pre-match interview. He knew we had to kill the game off.

"I can't believe we have lost this game," said Benitez. "After playing well in the first half we started the second half with four clear chances. We hit the bar and Kuyt and Alonso had great chances that we didn't take.

"Always it's important to create chances but you have to score from them. We were going forward, controlling the game and were dominant.

"I am really disappointed but it was really bad luck because everybody could see we were better than them.

"We were talking on the bench saying we have to score the second goal to finish the match off. I made some changes and thought the pace of Babel could make a difference, but to concede the two goals is something that is difficult to explain.

"As a team we were really good but we need to take our chances. That makes the difference in a game like this.

"Everybody was really disappointed in the dressing room because we know we had the game in our hands, but sometimes in football you need luck. It was a game we easily could have won 4-0."

On a positive note the Reds boss revealed that Fernando Torres could be back in his squad for Tuesday's Champions League clash against his former club Atletico Madrid.

"Hopefully he will be ready. If he cannot start the game then he will be on the bench if everything is okay," he said.

"It's good we have another important game on Tuesday and the reaction of the players has to be to play well and win the game. We just have to keep going and keep playing the same way."

Have to say i don't think we weren't so much the better team as Rafa thinks.

We were in the sense that we carved out more clear cut chances.
