TOTTENHAM VS LIVERPOOL - Saturday november 1st 17.30pm ko

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby destro » Sat Nov 01, 2008 8:58 pm

Would you like me to search through all the match posts we have won and lost and compare which one you have posted the most in ? If I had no life I would happily do that but I have been on here long enough to know the answer, I think you have LONG TERM memory loss mate.

I am in two minds now, do I want us to win the League and never get to read your posts or would I rather we didn't win it just so I can laugh at your posts, tough choice

:Oo:  the man with the agenda...

tell me bigmick how did the 'styling' in midweek affect us because we outplayed them in the first half and outplayed them for 15-20mins in the second half... we had lots of chances to put the game away like you said... then rafa brought keane off and babel in... babel didn't do anything at all and we were put under pressure and conceded from an own goal... so how did the 'styling' in midweek affect us when we were outplaying them for 65-70 mins...

#1 The Setanta commentator said, 'Liverpool have yet to concede a goal by header this season.' Cue Spurs goal by header.
#2 The Setenta commentator said 'There are more syllables in Pavlyuchenko's name that goals he's scored this season.' Cue a Pavlyuchenko goal.
#3 The Setanta commentator said 'Rafa has never lost to Spurs.' Cue Spurs win.

But the biggest reason is...

#4 Rafa's system.
Rafa has ONE brand of football - his. He's won LA Liga, Uefa Cup, Champions League and FA Cup playing his system and granted it's worked more often that not. So Rafa's thinking is 'If we don't win, it must be the player's performances, not the system. Because I've won blah blah blah...'.

A case in point. We were playing 4-4-1-1. We needed a shake-up, something 'different'. Here's the changes:
Babel for Keane. Still 4-4-1-1
Bena-useless for Riera. Still 4-4-1-1. Except we've got an average right midfielder playing left midfield. Does that make sense? No.

When I saw Bena-useless coming on, I thought, 'Wow - Rafa is mixing it up and actually going for a win. Kuyt joins Babel up front with Yossi on the right.' How wrong I was.

We were always going to get caught out at some stage and it's a bit of bad luck we got Spurs in the ascendancy - it was really putting off the inevitable. Bad luck too hitting the woodwork 3 times.

This inability, or lack of ambition, to kill of teams is really getting to me. Liverpool might have been top of the league for a bit - it's a snoozefest to watch, though.

I just hope this one setback doesn't send ripples of doubt through a team whose confidence has almost being tentative. When Torres comes back, it'll be different.

First goal was own goal from carra spurs didnt score it.

Spurs did score it. It was a goal for Spurs. Not us.

No spurs plater didn't make contact with the ball it was carra own goal I got the reply here watched a few times it deffo own goal.

I know, Leg. It was a own goal. It's still a Spurs goal, though. Regardless. After it went in, it was 1-1, when before it 0-1.
AND HERE COMES AVI COHEN!! OH I SAY - AT THE SAME END HE'S GOT ONE BACK!!!!!!!!!!

And I don't think we were too concerned about the Madrid away game.

Whether that is true or not it doesnt really matter does it? They still have world class forwards in Tevez, Rooney AND Berbatov. And they done the double last season so despite Ronaldo or no Ronaldo they are still miles away from us. We have Kuyt who is ok at best and Babel who is on occasion ok but :censored: the rest of the time.

Im not really that upset at the result today (ok I am of course as we threw it away) but I knew it was only a matter of time before it caught up to us.

Until we can boast strength in depth to boss games week in week out we should not expect any higher than 4th place.

just up u :censored: im just being honest chelsea have to much depth and strength in there squad they are killin team 5-0 and we struggle

Chelsea played Sunderland, we played a good spurs team.  We could of been up 3-0 easily maybe even 4 if we were shooting like a team in our position.

Did you watch the game at all or are you just dumb?

Sorry but you are the dumb one here, we could have been this and we could have been that, well we weren't and the main reason is that half the team have not the slightest fecking idea how to score a goal!!
Plus why oh why can we not find a single bloody player inthe team who knows how to take a corner, why is it always Stevie who takes freekicks and corners when he is so bloody awful at them?

Well at least we had 1 week at top spot, I'm sure you happy clappers will bask in the glory of that for a few years!

Right on cue, are the rest on their way or did you come alone ?  :no

Instead of being a smart :censored: why don't you try and argue against me, I didn't say anything that isn't true. We have been riding our luck so far this season and today it ended despite Toffee not being able to take a joke! :D
The problem is that teams like Manure and the Chavs have so much more class in their team, we only have a few great players and too much dross. Today even Spurs showed, at least attacking, far more imagination, skill and flair than us.

I am not here to argue, it really does nothing for my ego to argue with a name on a computer screen ?

Chelsea and Man U have so much class that they have won every game this season and we are so far behind them in points ! lets throw the towel in now, you never seem to be around when we are doing well, I imagine you smash your keyboard up after you have wrote a post ready to tell us how bad we are only to have to delete it before you get chance to send it ( Wigan and Man City for example ).

You carry on mate because in moments like this when I am feeling slightly gutted, I read your posts and they make me smile  :p

You must have short term memory loss or something, I have posted loads of times after we have won, why don't you go back and check. I am not negative at all but I am realistic, if you still think we have a realistic chance of winning even from before today's match then good for you, I hope the weather is nice in your little fantasy world!

Sorry guys, didn't realise i'd joined a forum, circus and childrens nursery all at the same time.

Its not the losing mate its the inability to kill of games when we have chances. It's been our achilies heel for years now and just when everyone thought we had gotten rid of it we are yet again reminded of it.

I would give Kuyt m.o.t.m. today, he worked hard, scored a good goal and kept possession well (when too many others were throwing possession away!) Frustrating as fk to watch at times, he did well today, as he has for the past few games. If only he had a yard more pace!

No need to hammer Heimdall, we all cope with a defeat in our own way, he just likes a little moan.

I thought we struggled to play anything like our best football as we have for most of the season, but were still far and away the better side for 60/70mins.

We seem better at stopping the other side playing than we do at playing well ourselves.

Its one loss. Woop de fecking do.

Get over it, if we don't win 4 of our next six games then there will be some questions will need to be answered, as for now, it was going to happen. The manager got some decisions wrong, some people had bad games. hey, they're human, its just a bad day at the office. Look at Stoke and nearly Hull today, nothing's easy in this league. And don't read much into Spurs' league position. We all know in our heart of hearts that they are better than that.

So let's turn over Athletico in mid-week and rape the Baggies next week. I expect a few goals, if Chelsea can beat a team 5-0 who we managed to scrape 1-0 against in the last 10 minutes then i'm pretty sure we should be able to stuff a few past the baggies, or at least we better be able to if we are to keep this "title challenge" up.
