how can you say that? hes a top manager his presence in the Spurs team alone has given their team an astronomic confidence, he is a good manager imo anyway.

we were never gonna win this game today i felt it in my guts dont get me wrong i wanted to win obviously but they are buzzing after their 2 previous games it was written in the stars today unfortunatley :(

Rafa got carried away thinking we could keep winning without Torres simple as that. I think with all the drama in us going to 1st he forgot just how many games he won for us last season.

Hope not, i would like to think that he was just not ready to comeback....if its not that then it means that he was saved for the CL.

Going by some of the things that have been coming out about Sammy doing the team talks befopre the game you got to start to wonder if Sammy is not having more of an input than we know.

well to a certain extent that is true... but we looked like we were keeping possession pretty well and could've held out for a 1-0 until babel came on... that's when they started putting pressure on us...

Level on points with Chelsea isn't the worst position to be in but we have to be better than them on points cos there's no way we're gonna catch the b@stards on goal diff.

If you'd have told me we'd be equal with Chelsea at the start of the season after 10 games I'd have taken that

Walk on

We cant think it's just a one game off. What about the Stoke game? And that was at home. Why cant everyone take of the rose tinted glasses and admit we are not quite there yet. We would have taken our chances today. Or at least more than what we did take.

And Keane was :censored: anyway, ok a little dribble for Kuyts goal but I think Rafa had more in mind when he paid 20Mil for him.

Torres couldn't have been 100% or he would have at least made the bench, Raffa obviously and rightly so thought that we had enough to beat Spurs with out risking Torres , after all we beat both Chelsea and Man U with out him so why would he think he was worth risking for this game, keep bringing him back to soon and we end up with another Owen.

We should of won easily.  Like wednesday spurs were lucky.  They didnt play well and we threw the game away.  Keane poor again.  Yossi coming on was pointless as he offers little and cant play wide.

There's a few reasons why we didn't win today:

#1 The Setanta commentator said, 'Liverpool have yet to concede a goal by header this season.' Cue Spurs goal by header.
#2 The Setenta commentator said 'There are more syllables in Pavlyuchenko's name that goals he's scored this season.' Cue a Pavlyuchenko goal.
#3 The Setanta commentator said 'Rafa has never lost to Spurs.' Cue Spurs win.

But the biggest reason is...

#4 Rafa's system.
Rafa has ONE brand of football - his. He's won LA Liga, Uefa Cup, Champions League and FA Cup playing his system and granted it's worked more often that not. So Rafa's thinking is 'If we don't win, it must be the player's performances, not the system. Because I've won blah blah blah...'.

A case in point. We were playing 4-4-1-1. We needed a shake-up, something 'different'. Here's the changes:
Babel for Keane. Still 4-4-1-1
Bena-useless for Riera. Still 4-4-1-1. Except we've got an average right midfielder playing left midfield. Does that make sense? No.

When I saw Bena-useless coming on, I thought, 'Wow - Rafa is mixing it up and actually going for a win. Kuyt joins Babel up front with Yossi on the right.' How wrong I was.

We were always going to get caught out at some stage and it's a bit of bad luck we got Spurs in the ascendancy - it was really putting off the inevitable. Bad luck too hitting the woodwork 3 times.

This inability, or lack of ambition, to kill of teams is really getting to me. Liverpool might have been top of the league for a bit - it's a snoozefest to watch, though.

I just hope this one setback doesn't send ripples of doubt through a team whose confidence has almost being tentative. When Torres comes back, it'll be different.
AND HERE COMES AVI COHEN!! OH I SAY - AT THE SAME END HE'S GOT ONE BACK!!!!!!!!!!

Go cry a :censored: river and :censored: off then.

just up u :censored: im just being honest chelsea have to much depth and strength in there squad they are killin team 5-0 and we struggle

Chelsea played Sunderland, we played a good spurs team.  We could of been up 3-0 easily maybe even 4 if we were shooting like a team in our position.

Did you watch the game at all or are you just dumb?

Sorry but you are the dumb one here, we could have been this and we could have been that, well we weren't and the main reason is that half the team have not the slightest fecking idea how to score a goal!!
Plus why oh why can we not find a single bloody player inthe team who knows how to take a corner, why is it always Stevie who takes freekicks and corners when he is so bloody awful at them?

Well at least we had 1 week at top spot, I'm sure you happy clappers will bask in the glory of that for a few years!

Right on cue, are the rest on their way or did you come alone ?  :no

Instead of being a smart :censored: why don't you try and argue against me, I didn't say anything that isn't true. We have been riding our luck so far this season and today it ended despite Toffee not being able to take a joke! :D
The problem is that teams like Manure and the Chavs have so much more class in their team, we only have a few great players and too much dross. Today even Spurs showed, at least attacking, far more imagination, skill and flair than us.

quite funny how you appear only when we lost... to bask in delight at our defeat...  :no

Will everyone calm down.

We lose one game and there is loads now saying that we are going to finish 3rd or we are going to finish 4th. Talk about gloom and doom. United are away to Arsenal next week and Chelsea are away to Blackburn.

We have West Brom at home

We are a good side who were unlucky today that we didnt take our chances. We are still in this

CALM DOWN!!!

Why Rafa took Keane off only he knows.  Even more shocking was the play of Babel.  For a player whose favored position is striker he was totally ineffective and almost uninterested looking.  Reina was shocking as well.

We lost the plot once Keane left the field and only Kuyt Gerrard Alonso and Riera can honestly say they played well.  We need to scrap Dossena and give Insua a chance.

Poor finishing and lack luster defending cost us any points.  Did we even have a shot on target besides the goal?  That 'keeper is an absolute joke and we did not even make him work.  The game should have been in the bag by the time Keane left the field.   Why can we not shoot?!

Off to the pub to drink this one away.
