I love how aggressive Gerrard is when he tackles, no nonsense, love it, deserved the booking tho
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

urm, isn't that correct though for a left winger  ???  ???

Well at the time he said it he had Gerrard and Dossena to his left but chose to pass inside and almost gave it away.

yes, but when a full back, or someone else goes for an overlap, it means riera never sees him

Started well faded away , expect harry to bring on lennon , pavelchenko and even campbell . Sammy lee should give them a good bollocking at half time , we've been sloppy has the half has gone on , would consider , taking off masch and throwing babel upfront as well

we started off really brightly but faded and that gave spurs confidence moving forward. Bent was often chasing shadows but he is quick. we play too many short passes inside our box and that is kinda risky but at least the players are calm about it unlike me who panics when he sees Bent running at Reina.
Arbeloa is giving away alot of possession with his poor passes today. Riera has played well but there were 1 or 2 occassions where he could have passed it to (1) Gerrard and the other (2) Keane.
Keane is getting alot of boos and i would love to see him score to shut them up. alonso has been rather indifferent so far.

I would keep Mascherano on for that defensive confidence and take Alonso out as Alonso has been pretty quiet - albiet, the whole team has been pretty quiet.

Maypax I remember Bent scoring two past us when he was with Charlton. I don't rate him but that memory lives on

I think we need babel up there as his pace will trouble king as he's not the quickest and babel is tricky and keane will get the support that he needs upfront . Can't afford to drop points here

Decent first half by us, although I would like to have seen us put the thing to bed. The overriding emotion though from watching the first half, is how bad are Tottenham? Feck me the goalkeeper, and particularly the left back surely must be two of the worst players to ever grace the Premiership for one of the bigger clubs.

Nice goal from "Dirky boy" and as predicted, this lad was never going to save it, while we have looked solid at the back and with the two holders, Gerrard's flitted in and out and Rierra's done OK. Once more Dossena is making strides in the right direction I think, and overall we look comfortable.

My one worry is that they are absolutely certain to change things up second half. It wouldn't be the biggest surprise (or at least it's what I'd do anyway) if they brough Pavleychencko on, took Huddlestone and O'Hara off and brought on Aaron Lennon and someone else who can run about a bit. Then they'll go much more direct, put it in the mixer and ask a question of Carrager/Agger in the air, getting plenty of bodies in and around for the scraps. If they do that and nick any kind of result, we'll be absolutely kicking ourselves that we didn't put the game to bed when we should've.

All in all though, things going well and so far no sign of the syndrome where we have lost some momentum through over-rotation in midweek. Feck knows what the name for such a phenomenon is, the sleepy lion syndrome or something I suppose   :D

So far so good but I think we need another goal as Spurs have some good players. We are in control of the match so far and the early goal really helped. Id love to see Keane score.

These are here for the taken and they are going to come out strong in the second half. We should be able to hit them on the counter as they have to score

He's quick and a decent finisher , would be wary of him , thats bar the obvious one of the reasons why rafa went with agger today , as he's quicker , the headache starts when pavelchenko comes on , he's strong in the air and just hope our defense can cope with him
