This game is gonna be a lot tougher than it looked this time last week. 'Arry has certainly altered their fortunes in a very short space of time and the game at the @rse shows they have found their backbone. If they'd played that game a week ago then they probably would've crumbled after going 2-1 down.
This is what Rafa and Sammy have to point out in no uncertain terms to the lads come Saturday. They are fragile but give them any encouragement and then it will be very hard to secure the three points.

Defensively we must be as secure as we were against the Chavs. Spurs may be lite up front but they have got some very good talent in the midfield that we'll have to watch for, cos of that I fully expect to see Masha return in place of Lucas and a starting 11 that closely resembles what started at Stamford Bridge last week.

I can see us just squeaking a 2-1 win in this one.

i hate spurs. I wanted to name this thread "Tutenkamun Hotspurs" (which is by some margin the wittiest thing I have ever come up with) then they changed their coach and started playing well. Bunch a selfish tw*ts

I played chelsea on fifa before the game and won 1-0
i player Portsmouth before game and won 1-0
i just played tottenham and won 2-0........

Bombard Gomes with crosses and shots...he's a dodgy keeper with confidence at low ebb at the moment. Do that and defend like we have done in the past two games and I think we'll win rather comfortably. That's my insightful comment for the day.

Those stats aren't reassuring, but they were also years ago with a team that isn't theirs nor ours.

I think we can win 1-3 or preferably a 0-2.

Full strength team!4-4-2 no messing about and resting anyone unless they are not fit to play!
Redknapp has given them a new lease of life and after that match last night they will be on a high and in belief that they can do us!
In a funny way though I think this will benefit us because they will be up for playing football as opposed to defending and going for a point.
We are more than capable of bossing them all over the pitch if both teams are going for the win,we should outplay them!

STRONGEST team possible please Rafa!
If he's wanting to rest players I hope he does so on Tues night and resists the urge on Saturday!

At the moment I'd happily take a draw, very hard to call this game, it depends if the honeymoon period is starting to wear off.
BTW If I was Ramos or a Tottenham fan I would be so fecked off with the players, how can a team go from the sh1t they were playing to suddenly producing battling performances like they are now, I thought these guys were supposed to be pros :no

2 be fair they won 1 match that even if ramos was still there theyd be expected to win in bolton at home, and they were always gonna raise theyre game for the local derby. i think were two strong in midfield for them and it will be pretty comfortable after the initial, fans behind them all out attack 15min start. i comfy 2-0, gerrard and kuyt

The resurgence after Ramos may have something to do with the fact that the players are a) being employed in their normal positions and b) no longer eating baby food. After five or six matches, they may also get to experience that "hang on, we've played together recently" feeling as Redknapp probably won't make six changes to the team every week. It does make a difference as we well know.

As far as the match is concerned, I think it will be an extremely tough game for reasons I've banged on about in other threads. Any type of win, scrambled or otherwise will be a triumph IMHO.

Agree with a couple of posters who've put the Madrid game into context. It doesn't matter a b0ll0cks, play the very strongest team we possible can in this one, and then worry about the one more win we might or might not need in the Champions League later.
