I think it would be impossible to rate him as a footballer without considering his attitude and his lifestyle outside the football field. Theese are the matters that`s making him, in my opinion, a faileure at Anfield, and in the end might ruin what could have been a great carreer. His skills are proven, as he`s two times "best african player of the year". During World Cup he showed what a talent he was, and I, for one, thought that GH had made a good buy, even though he cost a f*****g fortune. I believe he had a rough time adjusting to the English mentality of team-spirit and hard work. He can take on a defender, no doubt about that, but I`ve got the impression that his technical skills are being used for show off, more than for the teams benefit.

Leaving for Reebok he might become more of a centre of attention again, which might boost his game a bit, but I`m quite certain that he lack the ability to adjust to fit into a squad of class-players at Anfield.

Glad for the lad to have gone to a team where he might get 1st team ball but as a player for the reds no chance no where good enough to wear the shirt of LFC, sold himself before the last WC when we got ripped of by 10.5 mil and his former club all went on a great sun hols for 2 weeks because of the deal

I think it's impossible to judge how good a player he is on what we've seen him do for LFC. I don't think he played more than half a dozen games up front for us, and when he did play he looked alright to me.

Imagine if GH had played Gerrard in central defence last season. That's essentially what he did by having Diouf out on the wing.

Waste of money? I really don't know about that. I just think it was pointless buying the lad if he wasn't going to get a chance in the position he was bought to play in. He was the player we opted for instead of taking up the option on Anelka, after all.

Perhaps GH knew that Owen was going away and Diouf was bought for the future to replace him...why he played him on thr right..i think we all know even he is no winger but he is still better than the like of murphy smicer and cheyrou....who would u play if u could only choose among these people?

I can`t see that GH bought him as a replacement for Owen. Cissè was determined to come regardless of who reigned at Anfield and we still have both Pongolle and Baros. He also brought in both Heskey and LeTallec.

When it comes to comparing his skills with the likes of Smicer and Murphy I`m not as sure as you are that Diouf would do a better job for us than those two. After the campaign 2002/2003 Murphy was chosen  "Player of the year" amongst the Norwegian Liverpool-supporters. Can`t see that happening to Diouf even if he had stayed at Anfield for 20 years  ???

but remember..he came here as a world cup hero..could u have thought that danny and smicer would be better than the 10mil EHDiouf..no no..we were all talking about him being potentially one of the Liverpool hero of all time!

We sent him up to the sky (almost reach the heaven) and pulled him down to the hell!!

Dioufy Diouf...if only u didnt do the infamous spitting..the turnover of ur life!........(i would have done that too though if i were him - to me, it is a great insult to be touched on the head in such manner! maybe to some they may find it ok)

I have to agree with StMichael; The spitting incident is just a symptom of a stinking attitude :(
