Lets see how he does against a better opponent than say crewe and an ok half against wigan. If he rips cashley a new :censored: like he has done once in the past then maybe the guy can do a decent job for us .

Didn't pennant score a goal against chelsea 2 seasons ago ? Or do you just remember the Kuyt goal ?

Didn't Pennant run rings round the milan defence/midfield in the champions league final 2 seasons ago ? Or do you just remember the consolation goal that Kuyt scored ?

You seem to only keep track of Kuyt's performance....R u a LFC supporter or just a kuyt supporter ?

You 1st say months up to champions league final, he played well (surely more than 2 games)....and then you contradict yourself by saying he only played well in 2 games ? so which is which ?

Its getting tiring .....

Lets just end by saying Kuyt is average...Pennant is average. you bash one...then you have to bash the other...you praise one...you have to praise the other...

Thats your opinion thou . He has stood out in a couple of games - and played well during months up to the cl final - just because he played well doesnt mean he stood out every game thou does it .

you've got a good point there. i myself often wonder why the other players don't attack pennant's balls more often.

cause a lot of the times the balls are either hitting the first man or too high for the players in the box.

The ones between his legs ? if pennant could consistently put the ball in a dangerous area players would attack them more often .

And Rock this thread is about pennant so im talking about pennant.

As for you people saying Kuyts our best player so far this season, Kuyt over Pennant....

How many games has Kuyt been given compared to Pennant, to me it's not rocket science to suggest somebody who has played week in week out is going to play better than someone who gets played in the Reserves and in some cases not all. There's just no comparison.
Give Pennant 5-10 games, then bring out the comparisons.

Simple fact is, we're on about the RW or RM, what ever floats your boat, position here, and there's one thing for sure, as much as i admire and like Dirk's contribution to the team, he never has and never will be a good option. He is best as a second striker to link up play, and chip in with a few games.

So basically, i'm saying give Pennant a month or two then say he's :censored:, Kuyt's better etc.

Why do you think pennant is playing in the reserves and CC cup games and only playing when players are out injured ? why do you think Rafa was looking to off load him in the summer?

Pennannt scored a great goal against Chelseas and Mellor scored a better one against Arsenal.

This has nothing to do with Kuyt, its just that Pennant doesnt quite make it as a top four club player but does flatter to deceive.  This is a view since he joined.  I am dissapointed as I wanted him to make the grade as we need someone out there, and Rafa did get it wrong be it he didnt have money for his original target or whatever.  In fact I would prefer Bellamy to Pennant and I think that was a mistake.

Since Kuyt has eneterd this debate, IMO I would love to see a great winger but Dirk works and contributes to the team and this is a factor of our run this season.

Pennant as Ive said falls into a black hole, not quite good enough and not the work ethic to make up for that, he is a Spurs player.

I honestly don't know, he's too good useful for the reserves, if not in the first 11 he should be amongst the bench. Just, sometimes in life it's not what you know it's who you know.

And, unfortunately for the lad, seems he's not on his manager's Xmas card list.
