its amazing that pennant hasn't been given a chance so nobody has seen him play, yet they are still able to say he is :censored:, or maybe they think if rafa drops you then you must be :censored:, this is the same rafa that basically nulufied our own right hand side by playing someone there who looks completely out of his depth but works hard. :D

Is pennant a better option on the right than kuyt? Well since everyone is talking bollox about facts, the fact is pennant is better. He has more pace, more control, better vision, more skill. These are facts. (well we can all act this way), in my opinion pennant is a better option on the right, a few weeks ago even the kuyr lovers were saying he wasn't our best option out there

I agree. The balance of the side is better with him out there as well. Kuyt is a striker, nothing else.

It seems perfectly clear that the "we hate Kuyt at all costs" brigade have suddenly taken a distinct liking to Pennant. It's rather disturbing that such addulation be poured onto a "player" who contributes virtually diddley squat in just about every game he plays in. Of course on occassion he has crossed the odd ball...oooh! quick estimate  about 1-2 crosses per 4-5 games...goal ratio...laughable... fouls committed frequent...soft passes numerable........basically he is sh.ite and though I'm not a Kuyt fanatic, I am able to observe, live and in the flesh, the contribution he gives the team.......

But he never uses his obvious skills, speed and technique to any great effect, and as for the vision you are a mile off.

Vision = Alonso

Also - ace if your argment is that Pennant was our best player against Crewe then give it up mate. I could have been our best player against them.

1. Pennant was chased by stoke for a fee of around 3 mil. Kuyt was chased by hamburg (top of german league) for a 10 mil plus fee.
2.Pennant has scored 3 goals for liverpool - Kuyt scored 8 or 9 playing out right for 6 months last season and another couple this season- FACT
3.Kuyt has also created more and had more assists than pennant playing out right,
4.Pennant may have loads of pace and dribbling skills - but he never uses it . every time i see him get the ball on the majority of the time he runs towards the player then uses his one trick to cut inside stop and pass backwards - once in a blue moon he takes the guy on the outside- yes he has better pace and skill than pennant but when does he use it ?

Quoted in all the papers and also mentioned that Jol will go back in for kuyt again direct quote for Jol himself- and we all know that pennant turned down stoke on transfer deadline day .

Im sorry but what :censored: about pennant ? seems to me im saying pretty much what the majority are saying and feelin about pennant ? are they on the wind up as well ?

If someone offerred 10 million for kuyt....i am sure 80% of this forum will gladly support it (even the Kuyt supporters)... Hamburg might be interested in Kuyt....But are you sure its 10 million ? (or did you just add in this amount yourself).

You were all holy and "saintly" in the Kuyt thread talking about supporting players who put on the red shirt...and then you bash pennant ?

Pennant is an average player.....an average RW. Just like Kuyt who is an average striker. Both could do a job in their "RESPECTIVE" positions. Praising one of them as our player of the season and then describing another as a one trick (pony)....well do i really have to continue ?

I will support pennant when he is on the pitch and as i said i thought he did ok against wigan not shine as has been mentioned . Where as i do think Kuyt has been one of our best players this season so far . Going by form at the moment Kuyt is playing far better than pennant at the moment - as i have said think pennant has attributes but doesnt seem to use them to the best of his ability .

can some of u even squeeze more sht into one post ?! is that even possible... :kungfu:

pennant puts in loads of good crosses every game he plays ... leaves you wondering sometimes why some players arent in good positions or arent attacking his balls more often..
we'v never been the best of sides when it comes to attacking... even with torres we still arent.. we never commit bodies upfront and rarely do u see a fullback or even central midfielder in the opposition area reaching for a cross or having a go just for the sake of it... we'r too narrow in every sense of the word and perhaps thats where Pennant -being the exception to the rule- looks like sht to some..

he offers something different and is a very good outlet to have especially against the weaker sides (thats 9 out of 10 games we play in my books)... he has 2 assists in 2 games now and hes been very good to say the least in both games.. give him a chance ... hes proved he can do a job for us in the past and i have no doubt that he can do it again...

BTW a season or two ago when pennant was consistently playing well i remember many in the forum calling for him being inluded in the england squad... surely he wasnt sht back then and hes since played very well then got injured and is now back and playing well when hes been started.. is it just that kuyt has been so immense in that position that we now have no room for pennant anymore ?!
