So answer me this.....

WTF is Rafa doing if he is as dog :censored: as some are making him out to be!?

Why didn't he play El Zhar on the right?

I watched it in the pub next to work, so didnt obviously have the chance to keep a close eye on him or his movement etc, but i obviously did see the whole game, i seen him backing out of one challenge that i wasnt happy.
BUT he stretches the play, i agree that he can do next to nothing and he can frustrate at times but just having him on the pitch at times produces more space and stretches teams which can be vital if your trying to break weaker more defensive minded teams down.

Thank feck someone realises having somebody hugging the touchline constantly is a bonus even if he doesn't get the ball. And as i said in the first post, being able to spray a ball out wide without looking is a wonderful thing, it keeps teams guessing if you have to wingers who get white boots because the opposition know the ball could go to either. Kuyt doesn't hug the touchline like Pennant or Riera do, consequently Stevie and Xabi don't have as much time on the ball.

I thought he did okay considering that he's hardly played this season. You can't expect too much from him at this stage.

Pity pennant wasn't up with the balls that were sprayed out to the wing on numerous occassions...the lad doesn't anticipate what or may happen , he just waits for it to happen...but then it's too late........

to simplify ....he is unable to read the game

I think he did fine, people complaining about him not going after 50/50 balls are being a little harsh.  He does things Kuyt doesn't and vice versa I don't remember them coming down our right much aside from when we played like :censored: which was the majority of the first half.

In the end topics like these inevitably turn into Kuyt fans not liking Pennant and pointing out flaws that Kuyt doesn't have and vice versa.  Neither one is a long term solution.

Seems the grass is always greener to some people mate.

Thats a lot of balls mate!
We are LFC fans and not just Kuyt fans,if anyone is pointing out that Kuyt is a better option than Pennant its because they genuinely feel he is a better option for the team over Pennant!
No other reason

Didn't mean it that way, edited.  I still don't believe either is so much better than the other that one or the other should never see the pitch.  He did well out there that game we'll see how he does against Atletico if he starts.  Kuyt does well out there here and there as well but I don't like either one as a long term solution.

After Kuyt finally scored that league goal I said that it could spark him to score more and maybe he would be more offensive minded instead of just working defensively.  He had a great game against Wigan, if it continues and he provides more than just hard work on the right I would think differently until then I believe Pennant can do his part later on even when everyone is healthy.  I'm not bashing either one or any people on this forum.

If he isn't going to get a game then have in cash I say. I know a few teams around that would pay good money for Pennant. It's either or for me. He plays or we get the money.

Who like?
Why were there no bids for him in the last transfer window?

Rumour on the last day suggests there was bids.

I'd say anyone apart from big four and maybe villa as they've got good wingers would take him for a lump of cash.

  you are having a george giraffe.....teams would pay good money.......

I agree though, we have too offload and get what little recompense we can; sadly no teams worth their salt would buy him and the teams that make up the rest of the championship can't afford the exorbitant wages that he pilfers every week.
