Give Agger time. No I'm not denying he's not being solid at the moment, nor saying not to post so, I'm talking about time in the long term. I don't know you but I've known few CB that were world class at Agger's age.
It's not a prediction based on his good passing and that he has a better technique than any Spanish international at his position in the last two decades (I'm talking about what I know). It's also based, and here correct me if I'm wrong, that him and Carra proved to be reliable 2 years ago. Last season do not count because it was a nightmare, and now he just needs matches IMHO.
I haven't googled it, so if I have done a "happy clappy" selection of memories and I'm wrong to claim that, let me know, but that's the idea I have.
3 years ago, I was worried síck because our two best CB were getting older and I found the transition of a key position in any team a very delicate topic. I think that Rafa has done well to ensure a good future in that department. Agger will get only better decissions and will make less mistakes with experience. If he has the right attitude we could be talking about one of the great CB in the future.
P.S. About the topic of the thread, it doesn't seem mad because Agger has good attributes to be a holding midfielder, but that isn't enough always. Meaning I'm pretty sure he could do the job in a small team, but not at a big level.
P.S.2. I wouldn't try him as a LB neither. He needs experience and matches not learning a new position, and he will have them because Hyypia and Carra are getting older. So far, bar the super injury and the coming back, I think he has done pretty well.
