I think this is a major issue here.

Some are saying well he still has 18 months on his contract etc BUT it is in our best interests to get him signed up. Since he has been here Rafa has had enquiries from Inter, Bayern, Barcelona and Real Madrid if the papers are to be believed. He is a highly respected coach throughout world football and his time at Liverpool HAS BEEN very sucessful.

I don't think he will sign a new contract, I hope he does, but the way its all panned out, I think the Americans want shut and we are definitely with them for the next 4 to 5 years.

At the end of the day, if the current owners are looking to sell, they really should not offer the manager a contract extension. They should leave that decision to the new owners because theymay have different ideas about who they'd like to run the club.

No problems with lack of contract discussions - tbh Rafa's made it clear where his heart lies so there don't need to be any reason for concern.

Lets face it - if he's not offered a new contract at the end- he'll walk in to another big job... it's knowing and appreciating what you have ay
