I sincerely wanna know what ur opinions on Dioufy are as a footballer without considering his colour, attitude and his lifestyle outside the football field. Pls forget about the spitting for while...

I get the feeling I'm going to get a lot of stick for this, but I don't think Diouf was as bad as all that. Right wing was not his position (but let's face it neither was striker) but he is young (22 I think) and I think he could improve. The number of yellow cards and his defensive frailties/decision making were very poor but he did try. I feel sorry for him because I think, to an extent, Houllier made him a scapegoat with the comments he made after he left.

I really don't understand why Diao is coming on even as a sub. May be he is a little too eager to impress at present and that explains his poor performances, but I have never seen a defensive midfielder so consistently fail to stay on his feet when challenging. He is a liability.

Traore... hmmm, again he is young and could improve, but I don't know. You know he's going to have a lapse at least once every two games and these lapses have proven costly in the past. Although I haven't seen him play for a while, I alwauys thought Vignal was a better player and could be brought on. He combined well with Riise on the left the few times I saw him but then stupidly said that he wanted to play more games or hoped he would play more games before the beginning of the season a couple of seasons back and was promptly sent off on loan for his eagerness/insolence.

so where u think he shld play?

IMO, he was not given enuh time in the striker position.

I don't rate him as a player, he very rarely shows me thats he is good enough to be part of the benitez 'revolution'

Just a pitty we are going to loose sh1t loads when he goes :(

I never really saw him as a team player, which is why I feel benitez is letting him go. Team work seams to be his ethos.

He was and still is awful.  He was bought as a striker nad lets face it anyone who scores less goals than big Emile has got to be classed as a total failure!  He will not do any better at Bolton as the man doesn't EVER lift his head and see what is going on around him.  He was a classic Houllier signing.  He bought too many players from leagues not as good as the Premiership, who just couldn't hack it.
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

do u think that we shld compare a winger and striker in term of goals scored? yes, he is a striker but he didnt play as a striker!

another thing, some of u keep saying baros and diouf dont look up very often...i wonder how man of them out there can actually dribble the ball without looking at the ball....i think zidane look at the ball too when dribbling...really, since u guys talking about baros not looking up, i have been paying a lot of attention to players when they are on the ball...they r not looking up..funny! look at gigg..he does the same thing too..not looking up!

chiunn, I don't think that the other guys meant that he "didn't look up" when dribbling, I think it was meant that he does not take notice (by any means) at all where his team mates are when he runs and tries his dribble and before attempting to cross - he makes the crosses without any clue where team mates are running etc. and hence his final ball is always awful and wasted.

Yes, he can dribble a bit and yes he has some ball skills but it is useless to dribble past like 2 or 3 opponents and then only to deliver the final ball to nobody because he takes no notice of his team mates.

BTW, I think he is a total waste as he tries to dribble too often - don't forget that the opponents are premier league class and not Sunday park class where you can dribble past people all the time. Also, his passing/crossing and shooting abilities are really wanting for an attacking player.

This might be a bit on the side from this threads original question, but didn`t want to start a new EHD - thread because of one simple question..

Rumours, on Teamtalk.com among others, says that Diouf has had talks with Fiorentina, which endangeres the loan-exit for Reebok. Do they want to buy or are they in for a loan too?

Letting Diouf go is a big mistake, he is the only player last season who was actually able to entertain me in anyway. Great to watch especially when hes on top of his game, Bridge, Johnson, J Lloyd Samuel, Unsworth, Gresko should all know they all got a total ripping last season. Fantastic skills, im gutted to see him go and everyone else will be too when they see allardyce get the best out of him and when he gets the chance to show great player he can be.
