Why start a topic like this after 7 league games? We are roughly, one sixth of the way through the season.

Agree with this overall. Performances weren't great at the start of the season and the draw against Stoke is the only blemish on what has been a good start. Still feel we had what it took to beat Villa at their place tho
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

I think its a decent enough topic to post in myself.

Bearing in mind we shouldnt get carried away, I think we've done pretty well myself. I dont believe I've witnessed such a good start from us under Rafa, and although we're only two points better off this time last year. We've had a slightly trickier start in comparison, and have taken maximum points from Man.U, Man.C and Everton. Who would of thought that before going into that trio of games ?

Ontop of that we have taken maximum points from the CL group games, and look a much more resiliant side this year. Of course we still have our weakness's there is no denying that, I still maintain that our biggest hinderance was Rafa's need for mass rotating. By and large he's cut this seemingly folly out of his plans and I think its bode well for us so far. I hope he stays on this track of sensible selecting, although I wasnt convinced by the change in formation against City. That may be a sign of thing to come, but as it stands what LFC fan would have any complaints at the moment ?

I'm still bracing myself in the back of my mind for some lows this season, thats part and parcel of being a modern day Liverpool supporter I suppose. But also though this run has got me eagerly awaiting in anticipation of whats around the corner for us and I'm quietly optimistic. There is no doubt we will have a rough patch this season and it will be a real tester to see how the players and manager comes through it. For me as long as Rafa handles the urge of sensible rotation well during that time there isnt to much more to ask of him, the rest is down to the players. I'd say a half of the forums members wishes have come true, in that Rafa has finally ( it seems as of now)  put an end to his original methods of rotating. To give the old style approach a little time and chance to see if that can work in todays football, which the other half of Newkitt proclaimed it couldnt.

There is a long way to go though, and I'm trying to keep my feet firmly on the ground, but as long as we're heading in the right direction and even selecting Kuyt :D by doing this week in week out, then I'll be as happy as a baby in a Nappy.

Keep it going lads. :)

Results 8
Performance 6
Luck 8
Determination 9

I think we have done great results wise. Only really the game against Stoke to quibble about, but that was probably the one game when luck went against us,  but our performances havent been as good as early last season imo.
In Europe we played with fire against Liege, but still managed to get through without getting burned. While in the league we have slowly improved but hopefully there is a lot more to come yet.

Overall I think we are a couple of points better off than I would have predicted ,so I can't complain too much. Maybe I would have wished for a little more from our new signings but we look like a team that WILL improve as the season wears on, I just hope we haven't used all our luck up too quickly.

I think maybe Rafa's change of heart has had a positive effect on the team and they now look as if they really believe we can and will maintain our challenge. Anyone that saw the way the players celebrated after the final whistle at the Citeh game will know how much it meant to them.

And as that happens the fecking internationals turn up.

I agree with you on our performances, they havent been the best. But while we're winning and showing the right character I hope it wont be too long until we hit all of the V12 cylinders.

By the way, why do people refer Man.C as "Citeh"  ???

Is it a Northerner thing that Southerners just dont get, or what.

The strangest thing for me is that so far this season we havent scored in the first half of a game(apart from Browns o.g.)

Half time table:
1 Chelsea 7 4 2 1 9 3 6 14
2 West Ham Utd 7 4 2 1 10 5 5 14
3 Arsenal 7 4 2 1 7 2 5 14
4 Manchester City 7 3 3 1 7 3 4 12
5 Man Utd 6 3 3 0 5 2 3 12
6 Hull City 7 3 3 1 5 4 1 12
7 Middlesbrough 7 2 5 0 2 0 2 11
8 Aston Villa 7 3 2 2 5 5 0 11
9 Bolton 7 2 3 2 6 4 2 9
10 Fulham 6 2 3 1 4 3 1 9
11 Everton 7 2 3 2 4 5 -1 9
12 Portsmouth 7 3 0 4 4 7 -3 9
13 Wigan Athletic 7 2 2 3 4 5 -1 8
14 Sunderland 7 1 4 2 2 3 -1 7
15 Blackburn 7 1 3 3 5 7 -2 6
16 Liverpool 7 0 6 1 1 3 -2 6
17 WBA 7 0 5 2 3 5 -2 5
18 Tottenham 7 0 4 3 1 4 -3 4
19 Stoke City 7 1 1 5 1 7 -6 4
20 Newcastle 7 0 2 5 2 10 -8 2

Second half Table

1 Liverpool 7 5 2 0 9 1 +8 17
2 Chelsea 7 4 3 0 5 0 +5 15
3 Wigan Athletic 7 3 3 1 5 1 +4 12
4 Arsenal 7 3 3 1 6 3 +3 12
5 Newcastle United 7 3 3 1 5 3 +2 12
6 WBA 7 3 3 1 4 2 +2 12
7 Portsmouth 7 3 2 2 5 6 -1 11
8 Manchester City 7 3 1 3 11 9 +2 10
9 Aston Villa 7 1 6 0 7 5 +2 9
10 Hull City 7 2 3 2 5 7 -2 9
11 Manchester United 6 2 2 2 3 2 +1 8
12 Stoke City 7 1 5 1 7 7 0 8
13 Sunderland 7 2 2 3 5 6 -1 8
14 Everton 7 2 1 4 7 10 -3 7
15 Middlesbrough 7 2 1 4 5 9 -4 7
16 Blackburn Rovers 7 2 1 4 3 7 -4 7
17 West Ham United 7 1 2 4 4 8 -4 5
18 Bolton Wanderers 7 1 2 4 2 6 -4 5
19 Tottenham Hotspur 7 0 4 3 3 6 -3 4
20 Fulham 6 1 1 4 1 4 -3 4

So we really need to improve on our first half performances

Delighted so far and long may it continue.
I dont know where its came from but the team as a whole has a collective belief that they can win every game and are playing to the whistle for a result, they have a determination IMO rarely seen before under Rafa
The only dissapointment has been the Stoke result as said above, but in reality we could play another 100 games and dominate like that and win,it just was'nt our day.
As for the late winners on a few occasions, people may say its luck but I dont buy that, its called not settling for a point and keeping pressure up to the end.Basically its a team that wants to win the game more!
I was delighted with the result at City, the team would not have done that last year.To draw equal and still go for the winning goal was a great sign.A lot of people gave Rafa flack for his starting line up in this game but in fairness I feel the fact he changed things around when we were loosing was a sign that he has put his stuborness aside.
In too many games in previous seasons the team had not been functioning but he stuck with his tactics and we came away with draws when the game was there for the taking.
Overall I feel the early signs are that the manager and the players want it more this season.Very early but the signs are good...better than the last 5 years!

If we hadn't played Kuyt so much I'd say 11, but as it is I reckon 5/10 at best :D
