A mate of mine has gone over there to do some marshalling. Apparently in the Ryder Cup they have to have a certain percentage of European marshalls and vice versa when its over here. He spotted it on the net the end of last year, applied and he got selected. The only downfall is you have to buy the uniform ($120). Then you have to get your own flights and digs. Its cost him about £1200 altogether, thats before your beer money. Should be a cracking experience though.

usually the 'peans get off to a great start and then we make a massive comeback when it comes down to the individual match play on Sunday.

Sometimes the comeback is too little too late, and then sometimes it never comes at all  :(

I'm going to have a bet that there are more than a 100 " GET IN THE HOLE" shouts from the yanks when they are stood on the tee of par fives.

Greatest Ryder Cup:

1999 Ryder Cup aka the Justin Leonard Ryder Cup.  Very bittersweet because Payne Stweart died shortly after.  He was my favorite golfer at the time.

I don't think woods is a big fan of the Ryder cup anyway. He's not much of a team player. If you watch him in any comps he doesn't talk to any of his opponents at all whilst playing. Thats probably what makes him the best golfer thats ever picked a club up imo.

you mean after the US Open (which he won)

US Open is before THE Open, the PGA is after.  Thats how Paddy won 'em.

1999 was the worst RyderCup and witness the most disgraceful behaviour by any team and that has been recognised by both teams and hopefully we will never ever see scenes like that ever again . Idiots that day .

It will be down to how the rookies play, I should imagine there is a lot of pressure playing in this. If you have a nightmare in a singles comp its only yourself you have let down. In the ryder cup its your other team mates plus the whole of the country or continent in europes case. Alot will depend on the pairings for the fourballs etc, they will need to spread the experience around abit.
