Dyer or duff - Would you sign them?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

the last time dyer scored was in an unfortunate roasting incident in a certain london hotel.  :D

in 5 seasons he's played 110 games (22 a season) and scored 14 goals (2.8 a season). that's a disgrace. unbelievable to think that he was valued at 20 million a couple of years ago.

Yeah, Freddie Shephard said he wouldn't sell Dyer for £25m!

Then again, he also put a £50m price tag on Jonathon "I'm almost a qualified doctor I've been in hospital so long" Woodgate.

Dyer is too much trouble and is not good enough. The Geordies think he is a waste of space so if he is not good enough for them then he is certainly no good for us.

However, Duff is top class and it would be brilliant if we could sign him  :p

Duff is a brilliant player. He has got everything I want in a player. Unfortunately he is with Chelsea. Dyer is good. But he seems to be more concerned about drinking beer and getting laid than working on his footballing abilities.

It would have to be a dire situation for Raffa to even consider Dyer.

absolutely.

unfortunately, the joey barton rumour has started again today. he may be a scouser but he's not good enough to play for lfc, simple as that. :(

I wouldn't touch Dyer.  Hes a spoilt brat and an over rated footballer.

As for Duff.....hes definitely worth considering.  Last Saturday Kewell was given his opportunity to play in his "best" position.  Spurs played Redknapp on the right of midfield.  Jamie is still a decent player but he doesn't have much pace.  The right back was a teenage debutant.  Before the game I thought Kewell was about to have a field day, but he was a huge disappointment.
If Duff comes on the market we shouldn't miss the opportunity to take him to anfield.

Playing on the wing is about Service. Kewell got very little.

You don't see Stevie and Didi giving our wide players enough good early service, something Kewell needs to excel. He was ok against spurs but nothing special. He'll improve as the season goes on.

i think everyone's being very harsh on harry kewell at the mo, i think he has the potential to become one of our best players, and on saturday he showed signs of improvement on last years performances, mark my words the new manager will get the best out of him and he will start to terrorise defences across the land again

I hope what you say is true. It would be great for Kewell to play good once again but we can't wait for him all season to improve.

Dyer is both overrated and undisciplined.

Duff would be great acquisition. Look at the difference at Blackburn since he left. Strugglers.

Kewell was never given chance to settle last year. Too early to write him off.

If reports are only half true about how Dyer carried on in the Newcastle v Boro then i think it would be a big mistake to sign him.
Its been reported here in Australia that Harry reckons his ankle injuries are behind him so im hoping for a big year from him. Hopefully he produce the sort of form he had at Leeds a couple of seasons ago

Stu - I don't see how you think me saying Duff is class is Irish bias.  Most people think he is. I'll be the first to admit that Robbie Keane is a handy player but not LFC standard, Roy Keane is on the slide, Andy Reid is over rated (for what he has achieved anyway). You couldn't find  a bigger critic of some of our first teamers like Ian Harte, Dunne, Carsley, Connelly , etc . We have few good players.

Robbie Keane is good (not enough for LFC) though. Shay Given very good, Duff is class.
