I expect to see changes tonight as well. I reckon the team will look like this -

Reina

Arbeloa
Carra
Agger
Aurelio

Kuyt
Gerrard
Alonso
Lucas/Plessis
Reira

Keane

I think it would be silly to play Torres from the start as it was a pretty serious injury he had.

Eric Gerets: "With the Liverpool players you get the impression that they are like the Duracell bunnies. You wind them up and they go"

Rafael Benitez: "I know the advert. He must be talking about Javier Mascherano."  :D
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

I agree, and save Torres and Gerrard for the tough game in the Premiership. In fact take rotation one step further and save Torres and Gerrard from Premiership games and the semis and final of the CL!  :D

As for Toffeehater's comments about keeping a clean sheet, I couldn't give a sheet if we keep it clean or not. We need to win this, get off to a good start and not ponce about settling for a draw and making qualification more difficult than it needs to be. Draw this one, slip up and draw the next one and we'll be needing to win three out of four to go through. Do it the manc way, qualify with games to spare, and you won't do that with early draws. We don't need to be gung ho, simply be positive and look for goals. I'd rather lose 1-0 looking to win, than draw 0-0 looking not to lose. Three wins should see us through, six 0-0s will see us out

Me too I be happy for a 4-3 as long as we win get the group finished of in first 3 games that way we have more options when we run into chavski and ar.seholes in league which if I am not mistaken are around the end of group stage of CL.

If there's any lingering doubt about Torres and Gerrard's fitness then keep them on the bench.  Otherwise, we need to start playing our best team and giving them a chance to gel.*  We've got some fantastic results thus far this season without having all of our best players available but we know that things will change once everyone's fit.  Let's get them all on the pitch together as soon as possible and start building cohesion.

*Of course, not everyone will agree with exactly who our best 11 are at the moment but I'd bet my house that we'd all slot Gerrard and Torres in as the first two names on the Best 11 teamsheet. :D

The extra rest won't do either any harm, plus keeping the same starting XI rewards the efforts of the rest. If we win tonight then leave them on the bench at the weekend and give them cameo sub appearances.
