Couple of things here. Firstly, Sami is hardly kicking off in the press, so I would hesitate to have much on the grounds of "dirty linen in public" over this. He's just a bit gutted and you wouldn't expect any different. Similarly, on the "well he should have told Sami in the window" argument, I'm not sure I'd disagree with Rafa's stance either. Firstly, there is always the chance that Sami would have fecked off, and secondly it would have been hard for the manager to know for sure what the score with Agger was.
I'm all for being a nice bloke, looking the player in the eye, speaking from the heart and all that old b0ll0cks but on this occasion, I think the manager played it just about the only way he could. Sami will get over it, and during the course of the season while he's doing so he'll bank a couple of million quid so there's no real harm done here.
The bit that concerns me much more (although I'm not massively "concerned" about the Champions League) is that going in with three centre halves looks a bit reckless. One injury, one dodgy sending off and we could be in strife. That said, it's only the group stages anyway and progression ought to be an absolute formality, and will be.
