Shocked to see the name of our club involved in the Super League racing.

I've seen the car in a big photo on a paper and it's a beauty unfortunately I haven't found a bigger one.

Mods, it's Liverpool related, and it's an iniciative coming from the club, but maybe it's off topic material? Move it, if so.

"We are always keen to develop our range of commercial partners and working with Superleague Formula gives us an excellent opportunity to do that," said Ian Ayre, Liverpool FC Commercial Director.

"This also provides an interesting and new dimension for Liverpool Fans to support their team in a different way and in a different sport. The opening race at Donnington is a great chance for our UK based fans to see the car in action and the short and long term plans to grow the series will reach out to our fanbase globally."

The Liverpool car will be unveiled in Liverpool next week following on from Superleague Formula on-track testing at Donington Park on Thursday.

Superleague Formula President and CEO Alex Andreu believes the addition of Liverpool will significantly boost the profile of the new championship.

"As a global sports brand, Liverpool is one of the biggest names in the world," Andreu said.

"Donington Park is only a couple of hours from Liverpool and we are really looking forward to hearing fans break into "You'll Never Walk Alone" at a motorsport event.

"Our dream for our championship is now becoming a reality – our first race is only a matter of weeks away and all the hard work of our team at Superleague Formula is paying off.

"We are delighted to welcome Liverpool as our latest club and we look forward to announcing our final teams on the grid very soon."

The complete Superleague Formula calendar includes Donington Park (August 30-31), Nurburgring (September 20-21), Zolder (October 4-5), Estoril (October 18-19), Vallelunga (November 1-2) and Jerez (November 22-23).

So there's a race in Donnington this weekend.

I don't know much about commercial strategies, and I wonder whether it's a good inversion to put money in this rather than in the hands of Rafa. I don't know neither how much money this means. But as I've said, I guess Ian Ayre will know what's best to do.

There's no doubt however it's a lovely car.

The other english club involved is Tottenham Hotspur.

I wonder how much that cost and how it was justified when we've backed out of the Barry deal and new stadium?

Rafa is so rotationist that anything that involves rotation to a circuit must be good.

I wonder the same question of Reg. Even if we're not talking about the F1, it's not just a sponsorship, it's a team, with the pilot, the mechanics... it can't be exactly cheap.

I think its gonna be a shi'te car!
It has no traction, the brakes are poor, its way to slow,it has no control, its poor on corners, and the driver is Spanish.......Rafa lied!
Rafa said we were gonna get proven British talent in this season!

Of course i have'nt driven it,seen it driven,or know anyone who has driven it...but thats my opinion anyway!! :D  :rasp
