Its notoriously hard to get a CC hotel when theres a game on Mark!Everyone is looking something central and cheap..try www.laterooms.com for discount cancellations. You may have to stay outside the CC centre if ya have no luck on there!even had to stay out at Aintree once which was a pain in the @rse!

You´ll get the best deal at an F1 or something, type Liverpool hotels into google etc.. and call around.

Nice one Reg - I just tried that one for November and it's booked out.....I reckon people block book hotels as soon as the fixture list comes out. Fair enough I suppose if you can do it....I suppose for those fans who can only get over ad hoc it's just whatever you can get....Hel, I might be flatpacking a cardboard box at this rate  :O

Right - another dumb question but bear with me...How easy is it to get out to/in from the Wirral into say Lime St. early on a Sunday morning, or after a game on the Saturday evening/night ? How far is it ? Would you get a jo maxi or is there a bus service ?

I reckon I'll take one of many scenic options - fly into and out of, and stay a night in any one of : Leeds/Birmingham/Manchester...

Sheesh ! If anybody else were doing the same, I'd say they needed help

Mark i work for mersyrail , so if your going to stay on the wirral or anywhere on mersyside .Your best bet is getting a soccerbus ticket . You can get it from any merseyrail station and this will let you travel on the train to sandhills station ,where you pick up the soccerbus . That will take you straight to the match and pick you up again for your return journey . THe soccerbus always runs on match days so that would be your best bet to get to the game from anywhere on mersyside . Plus you avoid all the traffic problems  around anfiield. If you need anymore help , just ask and i'll help if i can.
