STANDARD LIEGE VS LIVERPOOL - CL 3rd Qualifying round 1st leg

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby LFC2007 » Thu Aug 14, 2008 1:50 pm

It was in the top five worst performances I've seen under Rafa - along with probably: Besiktas away, Marseille at home, Burnley away, Crystal Palace away.

The important thing is; Rafa has acknowledged it was a really bad performance, and so did one of our players - Reina.

I'd be far more concerned if we'd accepted that has anything other than really bad.

This performance still wasn't nearly as bad as Marseille home or Besiktas away last year imo.

i agree the whole team was poor mate, but like i keep saying these are one offs while kuyt is consistently bad, i really dont understand why people try and defend the clown, he is not good enough for us  and i fear he will get as much game time as he has done the last few seasons. even last night he stood out as poor while the whole team was gash.

and to be fair its not kuyts fault he gets picked, we have to look at rafas judgment for that

He has more good games than you give him credit for. And how does it work that because the rest of the team was poor that you're expecting more of Kuyt?!?!?!? You say he does nothing with the ball, how the hell can he do anything without it?

oh come on mate, you know damn well what i mean when i say even when the rest of the team is poor, kuyt still looks poor rather than on a par with the under performing team mates.

as for you 'how can he do anything without the ball' obviously you have run out of defending him and are trying to nit pick and deliberately play dumb.

wake up mate, defending such a sub standard player will start to make you look foolish in the end. obviously we have a differing opinion on what constitutes a footballer, to me a footballer can play with a football, kuyt can not even trap the ball, he has no pace, he cant beat people, his finishing is poor etc etc etc, all he brings to the table is the ability to run for 90 minutes and that isnt enough

Perhaps not the Marseille game, but it wasn't far off Besiktas away.

more draws more dissappointement as we repeat the last season? I have to think so at this point. :help

can only hope that we don't draw 0-0 with the strikerless sunderland as proof of this on saturday.

hopefully a 3-0 then! :)  :)  :)

gerrard - off the pace, not fit and sharp after injureis in preseaosn, needs a couple of weeks.
keane and torres - need to learn how to play together
caraa- STOP DEFENDING SO DEEP!!! we need to be much higher and so push our midfield up a bit. :sniffle

who's this?

Watching Kuyt on the right wing is painfull, its like looking at a dog walking upright on its hind-legs.   :D

Come on S@int, I was hoping you'd have a comment on Kuyt - not that the topic is the "Kuyt Bashing Thread MK IV"

I don't need to bash Kuyt mate , there are enough people doing that, so I prefer just laughing at the jokes.

C'mon, Kuyt can do well if he finds his right element.... playing for Shrewsbury.  :D

"Mr backpass" will be his new name from now on.
