If he does then we know that Barry won't be joining us.

I think O'Neill knows it, thats why he wants to play him.

So now its Barry's fault, whatever, if thats what you think its you who needs to open your eyes.

He's not coming, because he's overpriced sh*t.

End of story.

they give GB 3 mill, coz he aint signed?

what do you mean?

I think Dawson means Barry hasn't signed a transfer request, so Barry is entitled to a "loyalty payment".

The problem is that no matter if Barry asks for a transfer or not the fee won't go down.

Our owners seem to have got their PR timing right......send a bid in 15 minutes after Villa have said the sale is off...... then when Villa call their bluff ....say that they don't think he is worth £18million, but they will buy Silva instead....... who has already said he doesn't want to leave Spain (so we have no chance of signing him).

All the fans lap it up and another nail is hammered into Rafa's coffin.

No ‘Silva’ lining afterall
August 11, 2008
Guillem Balague has confirmed that Liverpool have made no attempt to sign David Silva but that two other clubs have.

Balague said: “His representatives will meet with Valencia on Wednesday to decide upon his future. At this moment in time, there are only two clubs that have tabled an actual bid for the player. Barcelona are offering around 24 million euros, and Silva’s agents will argue that this is very reasonable.”

The other club Balague mentioned were rivals Manchester United; “The second club is Manchester United: there was a meeting last Thursday between a group of lawyers representing the Old Trafford club and officials from Valencia.”

Although United are obviously showing interest, their €20m (£15.6m) interest of Silva was far off the mark of Valencia’s valuation, a cool €40m (£31m). They must be using the same ‘transfer price estimator’ as Aston Villa.

The news is probably not a shock to most Reds despite recent news reports. The player is not likely to want a move away from Spain and doubts about his physical size may suggest his success lies in La Liga anyway, not to mention the hefty price tag.

The Rangers defender Cuellar is quality.  He will move on to bigger and better things than Villa, probably back in Spain.

Source?

I cant see Cole wanting to go to Villa to be honest. He would sign for Liverpool but Chelsea wouldn't sell him to us. Its a pity because he would sort out the left wing for us straight away

This isnt over yet, if it was villa or barry would have said so, which must mean their willing to accept less than 18m. Sounds like MON already has the money spent, i think it'll be sorted for about 14 and Finnan, it's not in their interest to hold on to him as they would only get half that amount at the end of the season.

Whether I think we should sign him or not, can't help but feel bad for him.  Says he wants to join us, some fans chant we dont want Barry.  His emotions must be crazy right now, but then again so must Xabis.  They are being pro's by not showing any emotion, but it does not mean that dont have any!

Been saying that for a while, im in scotland 5 times a year and most of my mates are rangers mad. A definate good buy for Villa but just a stop gap for the defender.

and i cant believe me and lando are in agreement on barry  :bowdown

i reckon Rafa has a sneaky something up his sleeve, a bit of sleight of hand, we are all so busy looking at villa we havent seen where he is really looking
