Mr. T has denied a recently pulled ad for a candy bar was homophobic - insisting he didn't mean to offend people.

The actor - real name Laurence Tureaud - shoots Snickers bars at a speed walker in the `Get Some Nuts' commercial, before yelling, "You are a disgrace to the man race. It's time to run like a real man."

The ad was subsequently axed from British TV screens last month after upsetting gay groups.

But The A-Team star denies the advert was homophobic.

He says, "I am not homophobic. I'm not a gay basher. I didn't say anything that was negative, derogatory or malicious.

"I would never do a commercial if I thought it was going to offend anyone."

ok, where in the advert does Mr T say that all gays run like speed walkers? these gay rights groups have basically just said that that is how they perceive themselves... the mind seriously boggles, even more so seeing that the powers that be agreed that the advert was homophobic!!!

Yeh I read it in the newspaper the week ago and I think that some organisations that defend the rights of some colectives go too far when they are limiting the freedom to joke.

I could hardly see anything offensive in that ad. If any, the one that looked like a fool dismissing an olympic and old as fúck way of running was Mr T, he just made the character we liked in the A team, in which he also was simple, noble, and shot lettuces from a tweaked car.

It's ridiculous.

If anything the advert is making fun of speed walkers, who DO in fact walk very strangely.

I have never seen a gay man walk like that.

Mr T is a legend, and people should stop attacking him.

Mr T is a tremendous role model.

In one "Snickers" advert, he condemns a man for feigning injury on the football pitch.

In "The A-Team" he would build powerful vehicles to defend the innocent and would always defend his friends, Hannibal, Faceman, and even the annoyingly brilliant Murdoch.

In "Rocky III" he stood up for black rights, even when the Italian American white man Rocky and his white manager Micky were denying him his rights as the number one contender.

To all those picking on T, hang your heads in shame!

But in all fairness it is similar to having Kuyt as a role model, works his socks off for the team to ensure that the team have the ball and gets things moving in the right direction, but when it came to getting the shots on target....
