can't say i'm disapointed about the Barry deal falling through. Villa were trying to screw us on the price big time...and why didn't Barry request a transfer like Keane did?

Sadly i think the reason Barry never requested a transfer was because he'd lose money....and if thats the case then he can stay where he is.

I just hope Alonso now stays and doesn't f**k off in 6 months over all this.

A Villa fan here - just wanted to see what Liverpool fans thought about this whole thing. I'm quite surprised at how many users on here seem to be making Villa/MON out to be the bad guy in all of this!

Seriously mate, MON has done his mistakes through out this and we also have done some mistakes, what MON should have done is kept his mouth shut and not criticizing us every week.

To me that just makes it sound like you'll defend Liverpool regardless of what they do, just because it's a Liverpool forum. :lookaround

A bunch of nothing being reported on SSN, just a whole load of "Nothing official from Liverpool, but.. the cleaner that travelled with the team says he wants Barry, etc. kinda rubbish."

basically because we placed a bid weeks ago, you said no, and then MON mentions it every other day at every opportunity... whilst we just keep quiet

Sky Sports just said nothing "official" but the deal is not dead in the water, and that there is a possibility we could go back in the summer and get him for less money. Once again nothing "official", they say that comes from sources with in the club but no names mentioned. It seems a lot depends on unloading Xabi, nothing new there

He keeps mentioning it because you keep bidding for him..

Not only did you talk about signing our player before even talking to our club about it - which is illegal - you had the nerve to bid before the season had finished, unsettling our captain for vital games. Then we told you repeatedly that you pay £18m or he stays, yet you kept coming in with pathetic offers of £10m/£12m, etc. of course it's going to annoy us.

I think usually the media would side with the ever-so-lovable Liverpool, but you have a track record of it now, Spurs aren't exactly happy about the way you conduct business either.
